Love this, thank you! I think we've got the start of a playlist w/ freight train energies 🚂

            - Half Marathon Training NONE: program paused for Achilles recovery

            - Ankle alphabet
            - Ankle Recovery Workout

            - Classic Warmup
            - Push and Pull Workout (to failure stats: 4-15-3, 2-15-1, 1-10-1)

Holy crap push and pull workout is hard for me. Haven't really even thought about pull ups in months. Feel nauseous a bit actually. Today would have been upper body day in half marathon training hence the upper body workout.

Had a dentist appointment this morning and longer work day than usual. Going to shower after sweating so much then maybe will hit the Achilles w/ 2 min foam rolling each side too.

Sneak preview of the Freight Train Vibes playlist. Recommendations welcome; feels like it needs some variation in tempo/pace.

I added your playlist to my Spotify and will listen to the "preview" while doing my drawing exercises

                - Classic Warmup
                - Run Longer Circuit Workout Level 1
                - Post Run Stretching
                - 2 min foam roll per side: Achilles/Calf w/ leg crossed over

Took a nap before my workout tonight (this week is starting to feel long already) and almost tapped out for the night. Glad I mustered the energy to start my warmup and power through run longer even at level 1. I have DOMS from yesterday's upper body workout and I think that is pulling my body toward deep sleep so should be getting some solid sleep tonight.

I've been recording 1-3 dreams every night for the last 10 days and hope my dream recall continues. The real goal is to recultivate my lucid dreaming abilities (realizing I'm dreaming within a dream and taking control to do fun stuff like flying or melting through walls).

I ALWAYS have lucid dreams when I sleep in really late, wake up several times in the morning but then go back to sleep each time. I can fly in my lucid dreams too, but waking up is difficult - I have to stop moving my arms during flight and drop to the ground, ideally crashing down into a lake or the sea

That is awesome. When I first started lucid dreaming as a kid I would run and jump in an attempt to fly and would end up doing long low-gravity jumps. I had to train my mind to let go of preconceptions of gravity and eventually realized I could levitate rather than fly and stopped putting in so much effort. After that I would fly around in a reclined seated position and haven't had as much trouble flying since. I had one dream also where I intentionally dove off a cliff and into the ground to get over my fear of dream falling (woke up immediately on impact after a flash of white light).

I similarly had to train my mind to melt through walls by slowing down my approach. Had to focus on slowly getting one hand through first then could pass the rest of my body through (rather than bumping into the wall at a higher speed).

I still have trouble flying above certain altitudes and haven't been able to make it to space yet which is definitely a goal. Would love to fly past galaxies and stars. 🌌

No lucid dreams last night for me but I did recall another dream so I feel like I'm still on the right track.

A few summers ago I wa diligently writing into my dream journal and got very close to lucid dreaming, but it ended up feeling more tedious than exciting for me. Maybe one day I'll try again, because I still think it's a very cool thing.

                        - Ankle Recovery Workout
                        - ANKLE ALPHABET (IN ALL CAPS )

Felt pretty tired tonight again and glad it's Friday tomorrow. Had another dentist appointment today and it went well again; need to commit to a new standard of dental hygiene moving forward and feel driven to own it finally.

Run Longer Circuit Workout is still a butt kicker though I jumped into it with more determination today after listening to chapter 6 of Can't Hurt Me (David Goggins' book) partly while driving and later while working in the kitchen. Skipped the foam rolling tonight (feels like an every other day thing now that I've found out how to really get my entire body weight on my calf by crossing the other leg over).

Got some extra calories in today since the DOMS in my lats is still killin' me since Tuesday's workout. Ate my usual banana in the morning, utilitarian veggie slop, skipped meat today, and did a high calorie smoothie after dentist.

It's awesome to geek out about lucid dreaming sleep_twitch and Mianevem; it's been something I've been enthusiastic about my whole life and it's where my nickname here comes from (oneironaut = dream explorer). We'll see where the mind goes tonight. In last night's dream I was trying to use a knit winter hat as a makeshift mask and everyone around me was not wearing a mask. Aiming for something more exciting tonight =P

It's so cool that you actually "practiced" the things you can do in your lucid dreams! For me, it was more a thing that happened on its own and I never messed with it a lot. For a time, I was afraid of it, because I had a streak of waking up with sleep paralysis after lucid dreams. I should try writing down my dreams now that I have a regular sleeping pattern thanks to my meds - I sometimes dream pretty crazy stuff!

Ugh, sleep paralysis... That I had often and sometimes still have, usually if I take a midday nap. Actually it happened a few days ago too, but by now I'm not scared of it anymore. I immediately recognise what it is and focus on relaxing until I'm able to move.

I think I am less prone to sleep paralysis but remember experiencing it once or twice (seemed to be related to alcohol consumption for me which I had to stop at least a couple years ago). I knew what it was when it happened and had heard that if you focus on moving your tongue it can help get you moving more quickly. I didn't have the fear associated with my experience because I knew what to expect but it was still more unsettling than I had anticipated. People used to think it was a visiting demon sitting on your chest of which there are a few artistic depictions. Some folks actually use sleep paralysis as a springboard to the lucid dream state.

I didn't realize that lucid dreaming could cause sleep paralysis but it makes a lot of sense because you're sort of interrupting/messing with REM sleep which is when your paralysis is needed (so you don't sleep walk).

My dreams last night were mundane, but I was working alligator skin into pliable leather for some reason. Goggins mentioned having alligator skin recently in my audio book as a metaphor for being tough so I think I'm crafting myself some alligator skin armor for my mind. Feel like I need it after this week at work lol.

Once I listened to a linguistics presentation that mentioned that. The next thing that followed was that the Hungarian word for witch and a vulgar Hungarian verb for having a sexual intercourse are related to each other -- and to this demon. Etymology is a weird thing.
