    - Good Morning, World! Challenge: Day 7 (60 seconds jumping jacks)

    - Classic warmup
    - 20x5 Running Program: Day 7 (3.3 miles in 29m49s; 6.6mph pace)
    - Daily Gratitude Challenge: Day 7 (see below)

Really tough mental health day. Work's got me demotivated and dreaming of escape. I need to speak up but I'm afraid of starting conflict though it feels like it must already be brewing. By the end of the night I finally feel like I just need to ride it out and stay strong because I'm doing what I believe is right. I also think everyone is super stressed by working from home and general uncertainty. Gotta stay calm and objective and not cause any harm because at the end of the day it's a job. If I'm attacked and I've been calm and objective it should hopefully be obvious to others around me. This will pass one way or another soon enough and I need to trust myself and not shut down.

Got back to running tonight and figured a longer run would be a good idea. Went 3.3 miles (5.31K) in a decent time; Hadn't done a full 5K in a bit so that was a nice feeling of accomplishment.

    Gratitude:
    - Having friends I can have deep conversations with
    - Had a nice long run tonight (possibly longest non-stop run this season)
    - People that waved back and yelled out "hi" from across the street during my run

Sorry about your work stress. It sounds like you have a good perspective on the situation though.

It must be a Wednesday thing...I also had a completely crappy day at work yesterday, too. Here's to working out anyway!

You gals are amazing the way you take the crappy work day and turn it into a positive workout IN SPITE of how you feel emotionally. WELL DONE!! And, I agree with @Rainbow Dragon: EXCELLENT perspective

              - Good Morning, World! Challenge: Day 8 (60 seconds jumping jacks)

              - Classic warmup
              - 20x5 Running Program: Day 8 (2.2 miles in 20m08s; 6.56mph pace)
              - Daily Gratitude Challenge: Day 8 (see below)

Thank you for the support Rainbow Dragon, Io6, CODawn, and DorothyMH! Meant a lot as I was finding my way back to solid ground today.

2.2 miles tonight and had to push pretty hard to keep going till the end (finished with a bit of nausea that I think was caused by not eating enough). Started with very mild hip sensation on the right side (probably from the longer run yesterday) so I wasn't trying to break records tonight (more of a recovery run). Had a bit of wind to run against at first but nothing crazy. After the run everything feels good.

Mental health drastically improved today as well as my productivity. I guess I can just expect the really bad days to pass on their own now that I have a record of feeling like I'm on a roller coaster. Presented to the whole company with my team and everyone thanked us which felt great. Tough days will come again and next time I will hopefully remember my perspective from tonight.

              Gratitude:
              - A good friend texted me today to say she ran (with cool pics from marshes up in Maine)
              - Noticed a new lilac bush today on my usual route
              - Coffee

I'm surprised at how tough gratitude feels some nights (even after observing I needed practice at it). Tonight I googled "things to be grateful for" before landing on my own. Sometimes I notice tiny complaints or worries embedded in my gratitude. I need to return to celebrating this chance to be alive and breathing (tool lyric from the song Parabola which I've carried as a mantra for a while).

Regarding gratitude journaling: I just let my mind do it for me. I relax and imagine sitting in a safe and cozy place and then the images (or words, however your mind works) pop up. It also helps to let go of the pressure of finding something new every time. Sometimes, I'm grateful for my bed, my cat and coffee several days in a row, and that's fine.

Sometimes I am grateful for dessert...it's whatever makes a difference.

                      - Good Morning, World! Challenge: Day 9 (60 seconds jumping jacks)

                      - Classic warmup

Today was alright w/ work; not the best day and far from the worst. It was also a shorter work day because I had a doctor's appointment and figured I'd grab groceries while I was out which I'm glad I got out of the way.

Finally got a vacuum at my new place and I'm hoping that I can really get motivated on cleaning this weekend (insert yoda quotation). Specific goals: unpack more boxes, clear the floor so the vacuum can go everywhere, de-clutter work spaces, and make a clean corner for maybe recording youtube vids, etc.

                      Gratitude:
                      - I saw a bat friend 🦇 flying overhead tonight and yelled out "yeah!"
                      - Waved to some folks walking and they waved back
                      - Bought and ate some Purple Potamus ice cream before my run (and there's still more left)

Just wanted to stop in and say your check-in thread is so inspiring! You may not be able to feel it, but your posts are making a random internet stranger's life better, and changing the world for the better!

Gratitude journaling is something I like to do but have also really struggled with in the past. Sometimes even saying the words "grateful" or "thankful" seems like too much, like my brain just doesn't want to form the thought. A trick I use is just to list 3 things in the world that I like, regardless of whether or not they're a part of my life at the moment. If I'm happy they exist, then to me, that's gratitude. Hope this tip helps someone else too

Ooh I've never heard of Purple Potamus but a quick google search says that it's a sweet potato ice cream? That sounds delicious!

My Google search said Purple Potamus was a mixed berry with chocolate flavour Sasstronaut !
Will have to ask oneironaut to tell us which flavour

I thought it was potatoes to so I also searched it. Hippopotamus with the word purple mixed makes more sense than potato ice cream I guess.

I'd definitely choose the berry-chocolate mix over potato ice cream.
