      Tue April 28

      - Classic warmup
      - ~1.7 miles, ~20 minutes (nice weather run tonight )

I got myself psyched up for a nice easy run because it was a bit warmer and not raining. Things weren't quite as idyllic as I'd imagined but it was a good run =P

I had to push hard to not walk after my last two runs included walking breaks (in boots, in the rain). Feel like I wish I went the full route (3.1 miles) but also looking toward a long goal of 30 consecutive days of running (finally admitted it here if it wasn't obvious). Baby steps.

Thanks to sleep_twitch for the pump up music today:

Today was day 22 of running a bit each day.

Did Master Plank workout because it looked quick and easy. It was quick at least lol. Need to get some regular core work into my schedule.

          Wed April 29

          - Classic warmup
          - ~1.7 miles ~20 minutes (nice weather)

Tonight's run was pretty nice. Felt a bit more winded than I'd have expected but made it the whole way. I've noticed a little wheezing again while running. Went with the short route tonight just to keep things easy between the experiments with running in boots and my ear shenanigans (more below).

Kinda gross warning... Ever since I dislodged (and finally cleared) the impacted ear wax a few nights ago I've had a weird irritated feeling from my ear all the way to the lymph node in my neck on that side. Today it got slightly worse (not terrible yet) and I took some ibuprofen to help me work through the morning. Going to call the doctor tomorrow if it continues. So far it hasn't impacted my ability to run which is nice but it's disconcerting overall and I tend to hyper focus on medical anxieties so hopefully it'll resolve soon (with or without help).

Spent some time last night thinking about how to eat better and what I'll do after I hit 30 days of running. Listed out some meals I can make reliably but still really struggling with having any appetite in the morning. Work stress keeps my appetite away but lately I've been forcing myself to eat around 3pm so I am not running on empty. Definitely need to sort that out as tonight I got a bit of nausea that felt like I need to eat more.

My plan after 30 days of running is to switch over to 20x5 Running Program (20 minute run 5 times a week with abs on the other 2 days).

Because I got outside earlier than usual, I saw a couple people walking together and purposely gave them a lot of distance. On the way back I waved from across the road and they waved back. Hooray for socially distant interaction

Day 23 of running a bit each day.

In my neighbourhood, people usually call out "Good morning!" or "Hello!" or some such as they move off the sidewalk to give you space. I think this behaviour stems from not wanting to seem rude (as altering one's trajectory to avoid someone else might have been considered pre-Covid19). But the result is that the physical distancing is actually making people friendlier. Each time we step aside to maintain a safe space is an acknowledgment that we're all in this together.

                Thur April 30th

                - Classic warmup
                - ~1.7 mile jog, ~18 minutes? I think I was back a few minutes earlier than usual tonight

Possibly too much info warning again (you can skip this paragraph if you want lol)... I woke up with neck pain on the side of the unclogged ear so I called the doctor this morning. They had me come in for an appointment which was a little nerve wracking but I think overall good. Doc looked in my ear and said I had cleared the blockage well and that things looked good. They did not recommend antibiotics and I have to just wait for my lymph nodes to calm down (hopefully a few more days). Felt really off for the rest of the day and trying to focus on work felt impossible. Anxiety/mental health today felt more difficult than it's been in a while. Also had a round of diarrhea which I think is contributing to my overall feeling of being run down. Very mild aches in my knees during warmup but no pain at all once I was moving.

With the many mild issues mentioned above I really expected tonight's run to suck but it was pretty nice. I focused on pacing myself so I wouldn't wheeze or get too out of breath. Left a bit early today so I can also get to bed early tonight to help my body heal up. Even though I felt like I was trying to keep myself at a slow pace I seem to have beat my usual time by a couple minutes. I think running in daylight helps conserve energy because I can be more sure of my footing/form.

Day 24 of running a bit each day

omg I LOVE the earwax saga! I hope it's calming down more today. Lots of water and moderate movement will help circulate the lymphatic system - it only circulates something like 15 times per day! Lazy lymph!
Great work on keeping your goal solid and listening to your body through it.

I hope your lymph nodes stop bothering you soon.

But at least you have your run to be satisfied with. And there's less than a week before you reach your next goal!

                            Friday May 1

                            - Classic warmup
                            - ~1.7 mile jog ~19 minutes (65F light rain)

This week couldn't end fast enough but we made it

Lymph node in neck is a bit calmer though I struggled with anxiety and wanting to hibernate again today. By the end of the work day I felt better and was beginning to be productive so hopefully I'm past my recent mental health obstacles. TGIF lol

It is 65F outside today and was sunny most of the day!! That's roughly a 20 degree F jump in temps compared to the last week. I saw rain in the forecast for tonight so I suited up (for a dry run) as soon as possible and got out the door. Rain started about 1/4 of the way in on my run but stayed very light. I think I was sweating harder than the rain for most of the run. Right as I got back to my apartment complex the rain came down harder and was actually kinda nice as I made my cool down walk back to my building.

Mildly worried that part of my fatigue/anxiety could be lack of rest days... 1.7 miles and 20 minutes a day isn't a huge load on the body but I started this month of running from a rather sedentary state. I will stick it out the next few days regardless (unless something hurts) until I hit 30 days and then I'm looking forward to 5x20 as a base fitness schedule (mentioned a few posts back). My neglect of diet may also be responsible for recent weirdness so I'm keeping tabs on that as well.

Day 25 of running a bit each day

P.S. rain just stopped again and sun is peeking out lol

Diet can definitely make a difference.

                                Sat May 2

                                - Classic warmup
                                - ~1.7 mile jog ~20 minutes (58F, nice weather casual pace)

Knees were a tiny bit sore during warmup so I took a very casual pace tonight. The run started with a little wheezing but as I settled into my slow rhythm my breathing was easier than I remember which was nice. I wasn't feeling stressed or maxed out by the time I finished and I'm okay with that. Slept most of the day but figure it was part of re-centering after getting myself rather worked up at the end of this past week.

Lymph nodes are doing great; barely any pain at all and almost back to completely normal.

There were several bonfires on my route now that the weather is nicer; Was nice to hear people hanging out (though I'm hoping everyone's still being careful). I love the smell of bonfires so that was a nice touch throughout the run.

Day 26 of running a bit each day
