    I'm glad you're back and I hope you've got on a streak. You are completely right about exercising and energy - humans were made to move. Oversleeping just lowers energy levels.


      Move completed!

      I didn't make it to the gym this morning as I woke up with a headache after staying up too late. Not a great way to keep the streak going but I did do classic warmup today before helping the movers (I did hire movers for the this last leg of the move).

      Since it's way past my bed time I'm anxious about gym time tomorrow but even if I go late, it'll be fine because it's Sunday and I don't have to work until Monday.

      The road feels bumpy but I'm going in the right direction.

      Also Rainbow Dragon ever since you mentioned the word equanimity I've been repeating it like a mantra. Sometimes I internally scream it in jest but even then it helps me to remember how I want to act and feel (even when the movers are 5 hours late which wasn't their fault).


        Congratulations on completing your move. Moving is never easy.


          Still having a bit of a tough time getting it together again. I planned to gym today (prepped everything in bags so I can wake up and go after a smoothie) but still managed to lay back down.

          Tomorrow morning I need to decide I'm not laying back down no matter what. I hate writing these "I'm trying" updates so hopefully this is my last for a while.

          I love you guys and appreciate the ongoing support and I will remember you tomorrow morning when I'm fighting to get up and out.

          There's 24 hours in a day where you're alone in this brain. And your brain is talking to you in all kinda ways. And it wants to control you and pull you in these different pockets...

          If you can't control your own brain, and your brain controls you, you're f***ed.

              I have to get up early tomorrow too, so let’s do it together!! I need to exercise at home in the morning, so I have time to pack for my trip, and take my doggo to the kennel (which I am super anxious about😰) Let’s DOOOO EEEET!!!


                I'm trying every single day too. I expected getting up early to get easier... but I'm struggling. You can do it!


                  You'd think if you have a long enough streak of a healthy habit, it's always going to be easy in the future. But no, not really. Things are going to get stressful for me too, so yeah, let's do this together!


                    You are going through an adjustment period so it's natural. Think about the bad feeling you'll get if you won't go, it could help get you going.


                      Mornings are the hardest. You can do it.
                      And thanks to you, I read the Goggins book so you are an inspiration. Thanks!


                        Wed Feb 12:

                        - Classic warmup
                        - Yoga for runners

                        - Lower back bench: +15lb, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
                        - Incline ab bench: +15lb, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20

                        - 5 min walk warmup
                        - Jog / walk for 30 minutes
                        - 5 min cooldown

                        Jogging after just 2 weeks off was BRUTAL. I struggled to run for 5 min straight when I normally do 30 min straight. Sounds like it's par for the course though and should improve as I get back to the normal schedule. This article has some interesting information though not quite written for someone in my position:

                        Tomorrow is leg day and the strength stuff seems to hold up more than the cardio so it shouldn't be too bad.

                            - Classic warmup
                            - Yoga for runners

                            1. Squats: 15@bar+60lb, 15@bar+65, 15@bar+70
                            2. Calves: 280lb, 16 toes in, 16 straight, 16 toes out (leg press machine)
                            3. Leg curl machine: 145lb, 8, 8, 9
                            4. Lunges: 35lb each hand, 8, 8, 8
                            5. Leg extension machine: 145lb, 8, 8, 8
                            6. Deadlift: bar+90lb, 10, 10, 10
                            7. Leg press: 250lb, 8, 8, 8

                            Made it to the gym again. Tried to sneak some extra sleep in the morning and it made me feel stressed/rushed for the whole day basically. Getting better though at actually making it to the gym!

                            Exercise felt okay today (not too rough) though I did sweat puddles (not uncommon for leg day or runs).

                            Tomorrow is arm day again which should be less sweaty but we'll see.

                            Feeling tired still but I think I'm gaining energy. Also, I weighed in at my highest ever today (with clothes on) but I definitely gained weight during my 2 weeks off that probably isn't muscle =P Going to cut out some of the extra carb snacking for a bit I think.

                            DorothyMH Thank you! And wooo sweat. I still feel like the sweatiest person at the gym regardless of any other factors but it's efficient cooling so can't complain =P

                                I think it's awesome that, on the days when this is what you need to do, you actually remember to do it.
