    Here We Go Again

A few years ago, I was a pretty consistent bee. And though I was always spotty at workouts, I tried. I haven't been trying much lately. For those who used to follow me, I graduated in August with my Ph.D. So, ya know, trust me. I'm a doctor. I got a few articles in the NYT about my research. I'm teaching over 1000 students this semester. Ya know, the usual.

But I haven't worked out in a long time, and I'm starting not only to see/feel the physical consequences of that, but also the mental and emotional. I really want to get back in a good head space and consistent routine. So I'm going to start with the Epic Five routine (which gives me absolutely zero excuses not to get it done) and go from there.

Hello to all my old bees. I hope you are still well. I missed you.

Still overcaffeinated, but now a Doctor,
    Ber

      BlackButler thanks for the welcome!

Turns out, I have laryngitis, a bad cough, and general can't breathe/talk like a normal person right now, so I'm working on getting rid of the crud so I can start a full out routine. I'm trying to incorporate stretching until I can do some cardio without trying to cough up an internal organ.

Students are awesome little gross germ carriers.

Did first day of Epic 5 today. It set off a coughing fit, but other than that wasn't so bad. I'm going to try to do superhero week (might need to modify) and pick up my walking this week, but going to try to keep it light so I don't end up getting sick again. Azercord is going to help motivate for superhero week.

Yay Doober!!!!! Also I think Superhero week is going to kill me but I'll try. On the plus side I had 11 cups of coffee yesterday and started things off with a pre-workout today (250mg of caffeine so nearly 4 cups of coffee down already) so I'm feeling pretty good.

Today was walking to class, the constant pacing for four hours of lecture, day 2 of Epic 5 and day 1 of superhero week. I had to modify the push ups and the planks for superhero but I just did them all 5 sets to make up for it.

My cough didn't freak out but my arms are sad from all the pushups. Also, I need to hydrate. I'm a little lightheaded but overall I'm pretty happy with what I was able to do after being sedentary for so long and sick.

            Looking forward to day 3.

Falling off the wagon already? You'd better still be doing all those Superhero workouts

                    Hey everyone,
Sorry about updating. I did fall off the wagon a bit but I got back on. I should finish Epic 5 this week, I got halfway through superhero and then didnt finish, so I'm starting that over now that I have Spring Break. I have a meeting with a personal trainer tomorrow hoping that having someone help set a program will help keep me on track.

My biggest issue right now is just sticking to something. I have 1000 students and teach every day so usually by the time I get home, I just want to sit down and zone out. But I'm working on it, so please be patient with me as I struggle against myself.

                    best,
                    amber

There is a reason I workout first thing in the morning. Get it done before your brain figures out what you are doing. Let us know how the meeting with the trainer goes.
