I'll be surprised if i stick to it.

So here goes i'm going to try and keep a log, i've tried to do so numerous times over many sites and i just suck at sticking with anything nonetheless time to kid myself i'm going to stick with it this time lol

I've been doing the walking to running program on darebee and currently am on day 6 which i will complete in the next couple of hours.

Currently weighing 185 lbs 5ft9, extremely unfit been doing taekwondo for a few months but having a month to 6 weeks off due to elbow injury during sparring.

Some goals and observations so far:
Goal for January 20th (week): 183lbs or lighter.
Goal for February 13th (month): be able to run comfortably for 5 minutes.

    Observations:
Day 4 of walk to run sucked really struggled to run for 2 minutes asked for advice will try to slow down and go for time rather than distance.

I always lack motivation so i'm working on routine e.g put kids to bed have a drink go for a run.

Eating roughly 1800 calories give or take 100

And thats all for now i'll report on my run later, have a good evening all.

Ok so day 6 of walk to run completed.

I said iihad struggled last time running for 2 minutes, first set was the same so i decided to slow it right down and it became much more bearable although it felt as if i was bouncing from one foot to another in tiny distances rather than running, on day 5 i did sprints and i felt those in my legs today lol.

    also did fighters stretching.

      Another day down,

Day 7 of walk to run felt much more comfortable running 2 minutes i think i'm getting the rythm of my ideal run down after adjusting.

I walked about 5 miles today which has absolutely killed me with the running, tomorrow day 8 of walk to run is just 15 minutes walking so ill take it easy.

I feel absolutely terrible because i ate a big mac and fries with milkshake today i haven't eaten anything since due to feeling crappy for it maybe i'll have a tin of soup soon.

Also did the upperbody mobility workout on darebee and HOLY**** my shoulders burnt in that time.

Anyways hope i keep chugging along.

      Have a good night all

Day 8 complete, was a 15 minute walk nice and easy.
did 1 set of the "run longer circuit" whilst making breakfast for the kids.

I realy struggled with food cravings today im hovering just above 1800 kcals and i feel i could devour a chocolate pudding that contains 1000 kcals

Have a good night all x

UKmanUK12 Hey buddy you are doing great.

Stressing about diet will cause you to lapse so don't panic buddy If you ever feel like you are going to reach for those sugary snacks just grab an apple or some grapes instead, that's how I try to control my cravings I also used to have 2 sugars in my tea and now have no sugar at all. By instead of going cold turkey, I just took out 1 sugar at a time and now I can't stand tea with sugar in it

One more thing! Don't fixate on how much weight you are losing and gaining too much. You have to remember that muscle is heavier than fat, and the more fat you are losing, the more muscle you are gaining. Which is why BMI is rubbish, it doesn't factor in muscle mass. Hope that helps

Also with your running you are doing great too. Here is a great technique I used when I first started running its called 'fart stepping' (no joke!)

I have street lights all the way to my work and I used them as mark points. From point 1 - 2 I walked, then point 2 - 3 I ran, Then 3 - 4 I walked again and continued this all the way to work (1.2 miles). Then 2 weeks later as I got better I knocked it down to 1-2 Walk, 2-4 Run, 4-5 Walk, etc and upped the run points up each fortnight until I could run the entire way If you have marks like this on your routes this would be very helpful for you.

Also another great way to help with your endurance is 5 minute skipping Hope that helps too buddy

BlackButler Thank you for the advice, i cut sugar from tea about 2 years ago which helped me lose 2 stone, from 15 down to 13 but i seem to be stuck at 13 the only thing i can see thats hindering my weight loss efforts is the twice or thrice a week i say one chocolate wont hurt.... 12 chocolates later.

I've made a note and stuck it on my cupboards this morning, No chocolate No pudding No biscuits.
My kids think i'm barmy but i need to treat it like an addiction if i'm going to get rid of this compulsive behaviour.

I wish i could skip i've just never been able to do it lol, i do once or twice and then re adjust the rope haha, and i can relate to the funny running names and looking silly but i'm really determined to get running down because i gas so quickly in sparring and end up getting a good kick in from my sparring partner xD, nothing like being hurt for motivation.

                  Have a good day mate!

Oh, I am on on/off person nutrition-wise, too. It works for some time, but then a piece of cake walks by and boom... I have to begin again... At least darebee made me build a consistent habit of working out.
But it's one step at a time...

HellYeah80 Tell me about it! I'd rather be fit fat than fat fat though hehe, i'm getting partner on board with it slowly today she hid the kids treats in a cupboard high so if i get the step out to fetch some thats when we know i have a real problem! xD

                            Day 9 is done.
running 2 minutes walking 2 minutes felt pretty easy, feel like i could of gone 3 but i will stick to the program (walking to running).

Calfs felt abit tight so stretched them after run, eating was pretty good today although i did have two pieces of bread with my dinner which was unnecessary so i'll mind not to do that as much in future.

Also been greasing the groove on push ups today doing a set of 7 push ups when ever im in the kitchen lol, managed 3 sets. Also I've been trying to do a pull up like once a week on my friends pull up bar when i visit him they usually end up being a jump to the top and a slow drop down (a negative i think its called?), anyway i got my first full pull up today with my hands facing away.

Thats all really have a good night all and ill see you all tomoz x

                              Day 10 complete.
2 minutes walking 10 seconds sprinting felt good buuuuut i had to keep re-arranging my underwear lmao, not sure how to deal with that? Tighter underwear?

Also today did 20 hindu squats, 20 lunges, 30 calf raises, 20 of those things where you lie down and push your bum up whilst keeping feet and back grounded.

Ate way to many carbs today, pasta at 12 pm, cheese and potato pie made by my lovely wife at 5pm and some sort of cake thing that was lying about (but it's ok it's only 237 cals right? No not right, WRONG WRONG) meh im getting better i promise, calories are 1900ish for the day.

Have a good night all x
