      Thank you Bees. x

I remembered yesterday on my bike ride that I'd promised Gandhalfit that I'd try to snap a Dr Who or related scene in Cardiff.

We had our picnic dinner near Ianto's Shrine last night, so here it is:

I feel you on the neighbor thing - I've had some pretty scary experiences in the past, some of which could only be solved by calling the police. Strange people have recently moved into the apartment below us (mainly strange because we don't understand who actually live there - we see more people going in and out using a key than could realistically live in a two bedroom apartment). My husband is having very negative feelings about this entire situation, but I'm just trying to stay positive as long as they don't do anything "bad".

Regarding ADD, there's a lot of things you can do aside from medication. I don't have a diagnosis, because when I was a child, the general consensus was "females don't have ADD" and today, I'm on a cocktail of meds already and wouldn't want to add ritalin to the mix. I mainly learn from other people online - there are lots of awesome hacks for managing life with ADD!

Partying until 6am in a way that disturbs your neighbours is unforgiveable. I'm sorry you had to deal with that and all the difficult things that's brought back. I hope that it will be a one-off thing and they'll be reasonable neighbours otherwise. If not, sitting outside their house playing Baby Shark for several hours once they're done with their party could be an effective strategy to get them to never do it again. I was tempted to do that to people in a nearby house who thought it was ok to have a loud outdoor party until 4am last year. I can't imagine the horror of that song is improved by a hangover.

Ianto's shrine is quite something! His death was upsetting but I wouldn't have expected such a large memorial to a fictional character.

Eeeks, we had a very loud party at my parents's parisian appartment building a few days ago (evening before I was hospitalized)... It was a weekday. Dad went up to tell them to lower the sound ... result they switched their equipment from one side to another, bringing it .... jut above our heads . They did not answer the door afterwards, and the police doesn't come for that, so no use calling them. It was ... a very rough night.
Hoping your anxiety goes down, and you can relax after that wedding and feel better. Hugs.

OMG that shrine! So crushed when they killed him off the show!

I've stumbled across a couple randomly placed Tardis from time to time but nothing dedicated in my area to Ianto or Torchwood.

                      Thanks for sharing the picture.

Thank you Matan, NancyTree and Mianevem!

Thank you sleep_twitch I hope your situation improves. Thank you for the words on ADD. I'd be interested if you could recommend anyone to get started with?

No problem Gandhalfit! I'm glad you like it Zastria and I.am.CC it's still quite an active thing - a few people came by and took photos and read the messages while we were there. I didn't watch either Dr Who or Torchwood but I gather it's an iconic place in the LGBTQ community and that was borne out by some of the messages there. I'll see if I can find any other Doctor Who places this week, though I need to get a new phone with a camera first!

Thank you Zastria! I know you have your neighbour problems too - I thought of you yesterday as I put on the big noise-cancelling headphones I have (I bought them for music production)!
                        Thank you PetiteSheWolf and @Mamatigerj.

I'm trying to get back on track again. I haven't done much for the past few days but I went for a short run and a swim this morning. That feels very good. I made some enquiries about counsellors and did some research on dealing with my problems: anxiety, hypervigilance, maybe ADD. That felt pretty empowering.

Today is a "rest" day on my schedule but I may try to do a strength workout as I've done so little lately.

Tomorrow is combat day and taiji online I hope, though I don't have my partner's tablet for the moment as she is away with her work for a couple of weeks (another challenge for me).

Keeping busy and useful is the best thing for me.

Thank you again to all Bees for all the love, it means the world.

I recommend this channel, specifically the playlist ADHD Life Hacks for Newly Diagnosed Adults.

It also helped me in the past to get to know the lesser known symptoms to understand myself better (e.g. hyperfixation or fidgeting) and then go from there. For example, I have a box of fidget toys on my desk. For things that I have really bad issues with (e.g. cleaning tasks), I find help by following #strugglecare on TikTok (I know TikTok is a procrastination tool, but with my short attention span, the one minute videos can be helpful for an ADD brain).

Thank you, Twitchy, I will have a look at that today. At the moment I am all over the shop on this!

I can't believe I survived this long without noise-cancelling headphones, I love mine now. I'm guessing music production headphones come in very handy for noisy neighbours. Have yours been more considerate since their 6am party?

I hope finding a good counsellor goes well for you

That is great to hear! I highly recommend counselling if it is accessible to you. I started seeing a therapist (virtually) this spring for anxiety & self-esteem issues and, although my progress is slow, I do feel that it is helping. Take care, Colin and know that we are here for you, too!
