    Buff Dudes Dumbbell Plan Phase 2 Day 4 (Week 4)

    Still fighting a lack of energy (mostly just tired from work) but I'm caught up to where I was the first time I ran through this program!

    I'm going to take a short break from this program for a bit. I have a busy conference at work for the next 3 days, plus we're going on vacation next week and i want to enjoy myself rather than focusing on leaving something hanging back home.

    I'll still finish up the Reboot program before we leave, and I'll be doing plenty of walking & biking on this trip, so I'll stay active for sure. When I get back though, onward to the body part split days!

            WEEKEND UPDATE:

            Spent an extended weekend in Jekyll Island, GA as an early graduation gift for my wife. Did lots and lots of walking, biking, and horseback riding (and yes, eating). Glad I took that mental break from workouts, but definitely ready to get back into it.

            Still feeling a pinched nerve or something in my shoulder from last week. Not sure what I did since I'd stopped my normal routine in advance of the trip, but still feeling some impingement (is that the right word? lol) and pain when I move in certain ways. Gonna keep watching that, maybe some attention & care will help me bounce back, plus I'll keep that in mind when I start hitting the weights again.

            In other news, I'm posting my stats for the first time ever:

            Weight - 204 lbs
            Height - 5'10"
            Neck - 16"
            Waist - 39"
            Body fat - 24.5%

            I started off the year at 26.1% body fat, so I've already lost a small percentage since January. My other caveat is that this is my weigh-in first thing this morning after lots of junk food & no home cooking all weekend, which I will get back to this week for sure. All to say, still proud of my progress, lost 1.5" off my waist already, working for more, ultimate goal is to get down to about 190 but the first need is to get below 200 for sure.

            I took an extra day off of work so I could rest & recharge after a long trip, so I'm not gonna go out & run a marathon today haha, but will jump back in soon.

              Do you ever use a foam roller? Or a lacrosse ball to dig into those sore spots? Also, just passive range of motion exercises for shoulders work wonders

                  Good to get back to a full workout pace! This phase is a lower-upper split, and today was lower body so my legs are probably gonna hate me tomorrow lol. Felt good to get a sweat up though!

                    Man makers suck. Imagine a burpee with a pushup and dumbbell commando rows, then a squat with a shoulder press - all in one motion. Powerful upper body workout though!

                        DorothyMH only 5 at a time, 3 sets - even though it was prescribed to be 3x10. I'll try to get up to that rep count by the end of this phase.

                              Badge day on Reboot at last! Took quite a bit longer than I thought, but I'm glad I walked on good weather mornings instead.

                              My next morning routine will be either walking first thing or just doing a quick standalone DareBee workout. I've told myself I'd go through the workouts for a long time, and while more badges sound enticing I'm just gonna go for some quick one-offs for now.
