    I've put on 5 lbs in the past week, lots of Christmas parties with rich food & no exercise. Hoping to reverse the trend with better eating & more workouts.

    I also ordered a set of adjustable dumbbells and a weight bench with Christmas money, I've lost my gym from my old job so this will help me do weight training at home. Also gonna check out the two new programs when they're released!

          DorothyMH yes I did! I had to modify it slightly because I wasn't quite at their level plus didn't have some of the equipment, but I was able to knock out that plan.

          I used Christmas money to purchase a set of adjustable dumbbells and a weight bench, so I'm gonna start the new year with the Buff Dudes Dumbbell Plan. Gonna also finish up Cardio Go and see if I can add either Zero Hour or Baseline once they're released.

                TODAY'S NOTES

                I finally got to use my new dumbbells and weight bench! It felt really good to pump some iron, it's been a while since I've been in the gym so I took it easy on the weight at first. It was still challenging though, so that felt good. I like the versatility of the adjustable dumbbells. I wanted to start the two new programs that just launched, but I thought it would be better to just finish up Cardio Go and then try to use those as cooldowns or warmups once that program is completed. I would also like to get back to walking most days of the week, I met a friend for breakfast today so I couldn't roll out of bed and walk beforehand like I usually would. All in all, a good first workout of 2020!

                TODAY'S FOOD (I might not post this everyday, but this could be fun to keep track of how well I do with eating healthy)

                I ate at Waffle House for breakfast, didn't get too much to eat and drank milk instead of soda but it's still going to be really rich and carb-heavy. Didn't snack on anything before lunch or dinner, I did steak & veggies for lunch and we're doing homemade beef tacos for dinner. I think I'll do some turkey meat or a Greek yogurt as a snack tonight for some extra protein.

                  TODAY'S NOTES

                  Phoenix Burn was fun to try. I did it a few years ago and didn't like the jumping lunges, I really felt it in my knees & ankles the next day so I just did regular lunges instead. My abs are still sore from 2 days ago with the ab roller, so they got a good workout as well. Did an abbreviated run through of the Cardio Go program, but I'm SO CLOSE to wrapping it up!

                  TODAY'S FOOD

                  Pancakes for breakfast, steak/turkey and veggies for lunch, now beef tips and noodles for dinner with peas. We have some leftover ground beef from tacos the other night, I might do a couple more light tacos tonight as a snack.

                    I was all set to do the next Buff Dudes Dumbbell without, but while I was jumping rope I got a shooting pain in my neck that wouldn't let go for a while. I hadn't done anything strenuous yet at all, that was majorly frustrating but I'm gonna take it easy and just try again tomorrow.

                      Another potential workout ruined by a pinched nerve in my neck! Stopped before it got too bad, but this is ridiculous, I've never had this happen before! Hopefully a visit to the doctor will give me a better idea of what's up... grrrr hate missing workouts like this, I had such high hopes!

                        Just a 1.5 mile walk this morning. Then lots of eating out with a very busy day. Plus losing energy overall. This weekend will be very busy with deadlines but I'm hoping to get a good workout in sometime.

                          I haven't worked out all week, trying to baby myself a bit from my pinched nerve in the neck and shoulder (plus I've been too busy to try to get a workout in anyway, sadly...). I decided to start from scratch on the Buff Dudes Dumbbell Plan, and I will not be doing the 1 Minute Cardio Challenge anymore. I think that may have had something to do with my tension, plus I also skipped the ab rollouts since I'm wondering if bad form on my part is adding tension to my neck and shoulders with the ab wheel.

                          Cereal for breakfast, shrimp tacos with cilantro lime rice and chips for lunch. Plus my wife made chocolate cookies, so that'll be dangerous we'll see how healthy we can be with dinner tonight...

                              Did a few sets of the next day in Cardio Go first thing this morning. I've done over 400 Daily Dares so instead of just racking up the totals, I'm going to instead count by year to make the numbers more manageable. Hoping to do the last 2 days of the program this week and FINALLY earn that badge, plus find enough pockets of time to try to get my Dumbbell Plan off the ground. Tomorrow is swamped with interviews & appointments though, so I'm doubtful it'll happen then, but we'll see.
