aveoturbo was seriously laughing there, love it.

Still in some maintenance only just getting by state. Meh. So excited abt this weekend- Cousin on (step) mom's side getting married. Rly small wedding, really honored I was on the invite list, will be so good to see family.

And psyched my dad is going to help me w electrical project. My fridge is on the same breaker as a bunch of other kitchen shit AND it is a 2 prong plug (shush, same fridge has been plugged into those same 2 prongs w same adapter for 10+ years now and place has not burnt down). Keurig gate both let my husband know I am upset abt current situation (bc I am stoic superwoman until I am absolutely hysterically crying so he often misses the lead up) AND let me know I need this fixed. So, dad is going to help me put a new breaker into the box and make a new outlet just for fridge.

BUT I am also deeply ashamed of this messy dirty mid reno mid reorganization pile of stuff I live in currently and having my parents see what a mess I am dealing with just really upsets me.

Like...We have been pulling out stuff to discard but not gotten it discarded yet (need to call a junk hauling guy) bc I want to find it all first and not pay twice. But that means there is a huge pile of fucking garbage in the corner, etc.

    So ya.
    after that wall o txt

Today was just White Rabbit bc I need to clean before work.

I feel you on the "apartment looks like sh*t but family needs to come over to help" situation - I've been there last year, with my bf's dad helping us refurbish the living room before we could get rid of the stuff we wanted to throw out. I'm currently back to the "loads of stuff to do, but ignoring it for the time being" phase, because the place doesn't look like crap anymore. You can only do so much in a day, right?

I am glad I am not the only one who's had that, sleep_twitch

I think part if it is me feeling like a failure as a grownup due to economics. Like, if I was having family help me fix up my shoe box of a starter home in my late 20s I wouldn't be embarrassed. But I'm going to be 40 in a few months. But now is when we could afford to finally buy >.>

Had a total last min victory at work yesterday. Dead dead dead all day then caught a someone at the tail end doing a full wardrobe rebuild. Clearance racks, but still, got him some solid building blocks (suits, a sport coat, trousers) and will deal w shirts and casual stuff when he comes to try on altered suits.

Tendon + bc aparently it is my fave atm

'rin girl! i still got that at 50! but i got a whole basement to hide it in! and i think my Dad and his wife still have it in their 70's but he's an accountant so it's all nicely organized and boxed up in their crawl space. and as for asking for family help, isn't that what family is for? the only reason my dad isn't doing my taxes this year is because i am going to have to do like 5 different state taxes.

congrats on the ending the day with a big win.

I could not sleep last night, so there went my "hit gym early before cleaning frantically" plan. Meh! But, when you are up making popcorn and hot coca at 2am it is permissible to ignore the 530 alarm imho. Parents will be here at noonish. Maybe I will hit fittness center at hotel later (driving to Jersey tonight for cousin's wedding tomorrow) for a further workout but in case not...

            Off Day w ec
and the unweighted Tendon Strength one with no ec bc it was so much harder then it looked lol.

And rly... part of my distress over my mess is actually a great sign bc it shows my improved relationship w (step)mom. Bc, if I didn't love/respect her I would not care what she thought to care abt mess. But I am having flashbacks to when this neat freak married my dad and moved in and was just totally appalled at the casual slovenlyness that me/my dad/my bro had fallen into in the 5-6 years after my parents divorce. Like, we were not dirty (but only bc we had a cleaning lady once a week) but we were endlessly untidy (cloths/papers on dining room table for weeks etc) and as long as our rooms did not smell when he walked past them my dad didn't expend energy trying to get us to clean them (and if they did he would just take our doors off till we did). We also did logically lazy things like vaccuming the dog directly to deal w her shedding instead of vaccuming floors, LOL. So I am like, oh great, Deb gets to see me in slob mode again, only this time I actually care that it will annoy her.

My former roommate had a really old cat who was deaf, but still happily running around at 21 years of age, and she loved to be vacuumed (cats are usually afraid of the vacuum cleaner's sound, but she couldn't hear it anymore and apparently liked the feeling) LOL

I had a dog growing up who LOVED to be vacuumed. I put the brush end on our Filter Queen and brushed her that way, and she thought it was wonderful. I had to vacuum the dog every time I vacuumed the carpets because she would come running every time she heard that thing turned on and insist she get her turn.

So ofc when we all reach hotel and "let's wind down and reconvene later" I found fittness center for bonus workout. (Hubby took a nap.) There was some bizaro smith machine hybrid thing; 1 each elliptical, treadmill, and bike; and dumbbells 10-50lbs in a tiny room. (No yoga mats even but rubbery floor.)
