            A realization I had when speaking to a friend that I am basically dropping here as a reminder/accountability for when I get negative/discouraged.

            Also, trying to cheer self up bc my larger size jeans are snug so ofc belly shows extra well w them on...went through photo collages... I only do not have a belly at my absolute smallest, which is what I weighed at 10 years old, and I was an active sporty kid (even if I *was* bad at sports). So. As much as it is technically a healthy weight for my height..... maybe I do not need to try to be that size and should just accept that my shape includes a soft belly.

              Great fitness levels come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

              I know a wrestler, a Canadian Champion at the high school level. She was short, pudgy, I think her BMI was in the "obese" range before she started wrestling.

              She worked out just as hard as all the other athletes, on top of farm chores every morning, and ate less than many of our other athletes. She said she lost about 30 lbs every wrestling season. She still appeared shorty, pudgy, and her BMI would've been in the "overweight" range. For reference, I was eating 4k calories and had a BMI of 21. Our workouts started with HIIT, moved into Strength and then there was an hour of technique/calisthenics.She was a terrific athlete with a fitness level that her doctor could only dream of.

              Cosmetics are nice, but I've always prioritized winning the wrestling match/running the race/doing the pullups/feeling awesome. Anyone who shakes their heads at your weight? You can keep a smug smile, because you know you can bench press them.

                  and yeah, sometimes we just have a particular body type. When I weighed 100 pounds I had cellulite. Today at 125 I have cellulite. Whatever.

                      I too am a member of the cellulite club. Also in the fluffy 6-pack club. So you know, it is what it is.

                      I know men can get down to really low BF percentages and be ok, but it can be bad for chicks to get down to the same ranges. Plus, that shit is not maintainable over the long haul anyway. 14-20% bf for a fit person is really reasonable. Im like 24-26% depending on the time of day. I accept it because I lead a still relatively active lifestyle and know I am just about 2 months of disciplined dieting away from getting to maybe 20%.

                      But I like food, so fuck it. Fat and strong it is.

                        I've been meditating a lot lately and I've had these "insights" or whatever, that working towards a more flexible and less demanding mind might be more efficient than forever chasing the challenges/ideals it makes up for me for reasons varying from banal to extremely deep and personal. (And I'm not saying fuck all and eat yourself to death but it's called a healthy range for a reason. As long as I'm in it, why set up another goal and subgoal and subgoal...when they are not overall constructive to my well-being?).

                          My two cents: Prio 1 for me is well-being, no pain, no hassles. Prio 2 is performance, being able to do what i want without getting out of breath etc., Prio 3 can be looks. But it is really a side effect.
                          Without Point 1 anything is worthless... imho, of course.

                                Either I am hung over, I caught the sore throat my friend got from her kids, or my immune system is unamused w my shenanigans and let a lurking bug I've been fighting win >.> but it is just my throat and some general fuzzyness and no fever even so meh. Ofc I will still wander out in the cold and eat random nonscence (hello chese for breakfast, meet poutine and hopefully a beaver tail for lunch) and drink things today (omg..other friend's husband snagged some ruhbarb ginger gin while in Edinburgh last week and brought it for me, it was absolutely fucking amazing and totally justified day drinking)... but maybe not till so late since flight home is at 7am.

                                Having a quiet morning after yesterday's war w friend's coffee maker, at least. He does not drink coffee. Another friend of his got it for him as a housewarming gift so that gift giver would have coffee available if he passed out here at any point. 1- it had not been cleaned out since last time that happened so first I had to clean it. Pretty sure I can blame gifter for that as friend is actually super clean but never touches coffee pot lol. 2- dump water in and there is already old water in, so, mess. 3- open fresh bag of coffee and explode, mess. 4. Somehow put pot under wrong so coffee everywhere..more mess. 5 - fucking thing starts beeping, loudly, and I freak out bc friend is still sleeping ofc. 6- finally coffee..but milk has gone off and I don't notice till I pour in. 7. Start over. FINALLY coffee (with cooking cream in bc thats what I found lol). Today, luckily, no dramatics there LOL.
