The problem with the interview is they may be in what I like to call "warm bodies mode", by which I mean they ask two questions and if the answer to both is "yes", you're hired. The two questions? 1) Is this applicant able to make it to work? 2) Can the applicant do the job, whether competently or not? These questions are in order of priority.

Well, I liked your probability lesson! I think you’re doing fantastic just showing up! Besides, summer school is neither known for being rigorous, nor for having kids present who give much of a shit in the first place. So, what you’re doing is BEYOND what the hiring people really want, imo

Total roller coaster. Awesome fucking score on eas (educating all students) exam. This is a test some teachers fail 2-3 times and nope, 573 out of 600. Shitty grade on a lesson plan I turned in, 8/15. Probably bc it's sposed to be a lesson plan your coach edited and you fixed, but my coach and I had no time so it was raw. Killer first official observation. Shitty time getting a 5 min video of me teaching to turn in (had to spend time editing bc I had a tech fail to edit out and FUCK how I look currently doesn't match how I feel like I look and that wasn't fun). Whatever tho. Head up, carry on.

I got to make kids do origami to learn reflections in geometry today, and no one threw a paper airplane at me, which I was worried about.

You’re such a trooper, ‘rin. Idk how you can put up with them even tho they *didn’t* throw paper airplanes. The last thing in the world I would ever do is teach kids, so you’re a hero. My parents were educators and I thought hey were heroes, too.

I teach secondary school (your 7th to 12th grade) and the 10th is my favourite. Good luck!
