That sounds really exhausting 'rin! Have you ever tried removing some of his stuff in secret, and see how long it takes until he notices?
That attitude would drive me insane

Anek it is like he has radar or something. Some of my shoes went missing next time I was out, and we have not spoken of or repeated the incident since.

It is trauma based so I don't deal w it as ruthlessly as I would otherwise. He lost all his stuff in hurried moves at least twice as a kid bc his parents were not super functional/organized. Unfortunately our healthcare system is an expensive shambles so therapy to sort out that trauma hasn't been a budget priority for us...shelves are cheaper.

I can be fairly ruthless about reminding him to stop bringing new stuff home, tho, w out triggering trauma response. I need to get on top of that again so he doesn't see new shelves as an invitation.

So glad that it went smoothly. Hopefully better days ahead.

Again, I was cracking up over your interaction with your husb over his packrattiness I DID marry one of those. But, the good news is, we both moved a ton as kids, and both had similar traumas as you described. So, over the years, I have “trained” him to periodically purge the crap out, making him promise to dispose of something when he brings new shit in. It doesn’t ALways work. And thanks to Covid, we opted OUT of moving, so the severity of the purge needed for him was reduced. This time.

Now, I do share your anxiety about the DAY today. My husb was up at 4:30 PST, and I was up at 5. Both of us wringing our hands about the potential for assassination or some other horrible event. But, we watched ALL OF IT. And it was FANTASIC.. I cried through MOST ALL of it!! Especially when Kamala Harris was sworn in! Such an historic and incredible event after all that’s happened in this last year, particularly over the summer!! I still fear the ex White House resident is still planning and plotting bad things with his followers. But, I believe the current Administration will do the right things to fix his shit!😎🥳And I think the Congress leaders who DIDNT object to the electoral count will work with this new administration. 🤞🏼

I made my parents turn the television off mid-morning, and I worked out with my mother then to keep my mind off the whole thing. I turned the television back on ~ 10 minutes to 12. The camera was on Biden's face, and I actually said out loud, "Oh, good! He's not dead yet." Then we listened to his speech, after which it was past noon EST, and 45 was officially done. We drank some of my birthday wine for a "Welcome Back America!" toast, and I danced to celebrate.

I'm having the exact same discussions and dealing with piles of old t-shirts hubby wore when he was a DJ (which was before 2010).. Argh.

I'm happy for all American bees that yesterday went smoothly and hoping for things to stay calm and positive.

Thank you, everyone. I am relieved that yesterday went well, and that the 1st day executive orders were what they promised they would be (the pipeline one makes me especially happy, that thing was just 50 ecological disasters waiting to fucking happen). Also I am glad I am not the only one who's other half is inexplicably attached to some objects. I need a house w a shed (not a garage that is too much junk) so I can just tell him he's allowed to keep whatever random shit he can fit in the shed. >.> Lifegoals, go.

Todays workout was easy full body:
                3 rounds 10 reps each w kettlebell
                side bend to leg raise
                b stance deadlift
                side to side lunge

                Story mode, lv 2

I did accounting this morning, and managed to get through this month without taking anything out of savings (woohoo, it's been awhile). Will leave house later bc cat has vet appt.

                Habits this week:
                LEAVE FUCKING HOUSE* 3/3
                Composed outfit (not yesterday's) 3/3
Some useful task before 10am 3/3

                Current streak 215

I did not get the job I was hoping for. Boo hiss.

Going to sulk a few days/wait for my shiny new resume before I get back to hunting.

                    /sulk /sulk /sulk.

I am either exceedingly unmotivated or actually sickish. (Just tested neg tho so it's not plage at least.) Did a super easy leg workout today (2 sets of this). Walked. Took out trash just barely before 10am. 1 foot in front of the other.

                    Habits this week:
                    LEAVE FUCKING HOUSE* 4/4
                    Composed outfit (not yesterday's) 4/4
Some useful task before 10am 4/4
