That workout sure looks fun times five.
Good luck with the job, I also paid someone a while ago to fix my resume up and it does pay off.

thanks daejamurrachan and Gandhalfit (and huzzah, tagging wants to work today). I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea. I have a consultation on the phone today or tomorrow w resume ppl.

Did another editing read through and checked in w my cover artist yesterday. I think I will start next story(s) and plan for a tight release schedule.

Today's useful thing was to clean "science projects" from fridge. I am unamused w myself w/r/t food waste. Mostly of shit I bought "to save money". Like....Whyfuck did I buy store brand deli turkey a 2nd time? I already knew from the 1st time, months ago, that it was basically inedible (cats don't even want). But no, it was 3$/lb cheaper so instead of spending 8$ on nice turkey to have sammiches I spent 5$ to throw in trash once it got too slimy to even pretend I might eat. Or fucking grapes that were sad looking when I bought them and started rotting 2 days later but hey they were 88 cents a pound! I need to stop w that shit. If I really am that broke, I have enough spices to make rly nice beans and rice. I do not need to buy generic garbage and bad produce in the meantime wtf.

Went for a 40 min walk, might do yoga later.

Oh I don't like cleaning up "science projects" either. My sympathies.

That post cracked me up. I was forever cleaning out science experiments form our downstairs fridge when my husb’s son & d-i-l lived here. They would buy stuff, “intending to make food,” let it rot, it would start reeking, then *I* would find it while I was getting a med of mine from the drawer in that fridge. Ugh. Same with my daughter when I went to visit. She’d say “I don’t know how to tell if somethings gone bad!” To which I would say “the green fuzz growing on it? It’s a good indicator!”😤🤣. But, I do hear ya about the cheaper things being a bad bet for taste or lasting. Makes paying a little more....sorta worth it

I was in the habit of searching our refrigerator for science experiments every week on garbage day. My mother refuses to actually check what produce we already have in stock before going shopping. She was always buying stuff we already had--perfectly good, often expensive stuff that ended up going bad just because we had too much of it. This year has been a bit better since I am the only person who has done the shopping for the past ten months. Even so, when I ask my mother for her items for the shopping list, she still has a habit of writing down everything she might possibly want instead of just the items she has a plan to actually eat that week. At least I can check myself now to see which of the items on her list are things we've already got!

Good vibes for your job hunt, 'rin! May a recruiter for your dream job see your worth soon!

Rainbow Dragon produce science projects make me maddest. I am glad I finally trained myself to buy frozen if I wasn't sure if a thing was extra or not. but ya. Thanks Gandhalfit and DorothyMH I am glad I'm not the only one /sigh

Today's useful thing was editing, and my "left the house" was bribing myself w coffee.
Did my fun circuit + builder w 8 lbs.

I did not want to work out today.

This morning, my compromise with myself was to set a timer for 15 mins and pick up my kettlebell (25lbs), telling myself I couldn't put it down till time. There was some just sullenly holding the bell, not much though bc that is boring. There was also "clean up after shitty kitty w 1 hand w kettlebell in other", "remove hoody which has become suddenly annoying" followed by "retrieve glasses which went flying" . But in there I also found/invented a really nice abs/balance exercise. Side bend towards bell immediately followed by leg raise on opposite side from bell.

Bc I was not going to go outside today (it was raining this morning), I made myself set a 2nd timer at some point and did 15 mins of "weighted cardio with 5lbs". I started w the set I've been using lately, then did some other random sets of 3 things x8 reps each. It was a nice way to just move.

Then it wasn't raining anymore and I made myself go outside, and actually ended up glad that I did, even if I had to drag self.

(I am NOT allowed jokers on current habits, unless it is seriously bad weather or I catch this plague etc. I'm not asking much of myself, and these things will always make me feel better, so there is no reason to allow ennui to talk me into skipping them.)

I'm glad you got to go outside today after all. (Cold-and-rainy-but-not-properly-winter-enough-to-enjoy weather is a drag.)

I am well acquainted with the timer method, and have now taught it to my daughter, bc Yeah. Always works and glad I did it.
