      My heart goes out to you with your loss. I haven't experienced the loss of a loved one in some time... the one thing that helps me through is one foot in front of the other. One day at a time.

      I noticed at the beginning of the thread you had weightlifting goals, had you stopped those? Just wondering. As you noted, it's not bad at all to use your 15 lbser and then switch to the kettlebell when you've got the hang of it.

        'rin, I am so very sorry for your loss.
        I'm glad you were able to visit with your stepmom and additional friends and family and also glad she is managing well enough that you are able to be back home now to take care of yourself.
        Your plans for a memorial that honours who your father was I think are wonderful.

          patwillwoo I still have weight lifting goals. But between then and now I injured self (fucked up tendon between shoulder and pec pretty badly, took >9 months to heal) and then was not in gym for months bc Covid and now am only willing to be in gym a few x a week bc my area (just outside nyc) is still not super safe so.....they are still there, but a bit further off than they were when I set them LOL.

            Yeah. Up dog to lunge does not work. I re-ordered poses and added additional poses almost every day when I did 30DoY. I also will not do hero pose. Thunderbolt is safer and more accessible for most human bodies.

            Good work on hitting all of your healthy habits targets today.

              evidently i need to study up on my poses more. Didnt know what Hero pose even was. I had to look it up which makes me wonder if I even did it right during 30DoY...oh well...I used to be able to sit like that, but I am not a teenager any more

                  I definitely need to do all of these.
                  The hair thing can be way too many things, most of them easy and probably emotions related so I wouldn't worry about it.

                    Rainbow Dragon it is nice to hear from an actual yoga person that I am not crazy w/r/t my pose reordering lol.
                    CODawn she is too picky/smart, and will avoid the food entirely and I don't want skinny cat to start distrusting food (or Shadow to get the meds instead) so wrapped cat it is (my hubby puts her in a tshirt w her head out the arm hole LOL).
                    Amirsh ya, starting w those bc we all need it. I am not super concerned abt hair bc I habe enough to be ok w some shed but, going from having to clean out shower drain every 6 weeks to every 2 is a big difference.

                    Also I hope tags worked bc my phone is being odd.


                    Today was Yoga 26 (I cannot do shoulder stand, beyond throwing myself up into it for 1 sec beforeI fall, so did waterfall) and Gauntlet 3 bc 2 abs days are lovely/grml. Might do a downdog flow later.

                        I need to get my physical environment more clean and orderly. That is my project for next few days. Starting today by cleaning/reorganizing fucking kitchen.


                        Gauntlet and Yoga. Can we talk abt Gauntlet rep scheme tho? The weight that would have been appropriate for that low # of swings would have been about double the weight I have...which was already too heavy for snatches. I did all the swings in 1 go, then did that many again as a 2nd set for good measure. Then I had to use my 10lb dumbbell for snatches bc I attacked my wrist trying w 25lb bell LOL.

                          Trying to make a habit of getting to bed earlier and getting up earlier. I feel like I get more done that way. It's tough stumblin' out of bed though.

                              American Courier if your circadian rhythm disagrees it can be a process but...I enjoy being a morning person.

                              Finished* 30 days of yoga today (I am taking badge altho I skipped structured meditation. That is something that is normally just part of my life wether I sit properly and time myself or not. My 1st coffee of the day is basically blank mind, no electronics, maybe petting cat for 10-30 min. I am not going to fuss at self for doing it on the couch instead of my yoga mat, my coffee cup is a stand in for prayer beads.)

                              Gauntlet day 5 is fucking evil. I love it, altho I was bitching during and taking long breaks (I did day 29 of yoga between sets 3 and 5 bc I was procrastinating) I'm glad I got through. I have run a fucking Gauntlet indeed. (Even if I just did knee pushups (50 of those is a LOT for me atm) and used my 15lb dumbbell for curl presses (and fucking lost control of decent on last fucking rep of last set...my shoulder is going to be some lovely colors).) The 1st few reps of each set of squat to row would have this gleeful toss/catch grip transition...last few not so much LOL.

                              I fucking earned my breakfast today, lol.

                                Congratulations on completing 30 Days of Yoga!

                                I am 100% in favour of meditating in whatever location/posture/fashion works for you. (The ancient yogis passed down some good ideas to us, but also some unsound guano that stands up to scientific scrutiny not at all. The notion that you need to sit on the ground in lotus pose to reap the benefits of meditation is an example of the latter.)
