Thanks Cabriel TheLibrarian PetiteSheWolf CODawn Amirsh

Went to brunch today w a former colleague I really enjoy the company of. Going to do groceries and take a walk later but, did Epic Arms beforehand.

30 miles last week, 10k average steps. I'll take it.

So. Looking at last week's food log, I need to better manage days I work a closing shift. (There are 4 this week.) Having a substantial breakfast will NOT stop me from wanting a bite of something at 1130/12 bc my stomach is simply convinced that that is lunch time. Eating a yogurt as a sweet w my lunch will not stop me from looking for a sweet w coffee later if bored. I WILL eat something when I get home/otw home from work.

So. I will bring 2 meals with me on those shifts (or plan to go to deli after gym if doing gym in morning near work) to stop me a- eating random nonsence and b- overspending on such bc there is no cheap food near work (even deli is not cheap but that can be bribe to go to gym). I will stop getting a yogurt w my lunch and start doing that if I want a snack break later instead of baked goods (unless I want a truffle- those are teensy and super yum so the bang for my caloric buck is worth it). And I will have a snack at home (probably some chorizo) that a- I will really want and b- requires little or no prep and also c- I will not cary any cash to make pizza shop etc off limits on my commute.

Thanks Mamatigerj sleep_twitch . It is probably not her thyroid. But we are retesting that to be sure. She did drop a bit more weight. 6.8lbs cat. >.<

So I have some anti emetic (tuna flavored liquid in a syringe that she foams at mouth and tries to spit out, delivered by some specialty pet pharmacy at 11pm). Ver is retesting thyroid and doing a fecal test. (Putting cat shit on a bag into my purse was a 1st for me.)

If not thyroid, it is either cancer or inflammation. Ultrasound to get a probable answer would be 500. If prolly cancer, further testing needed + treatment I might not even do if I was not looking at possibly huge medical bills myself. If inflammation, treat w steroids.

Had a real talk moment w vet abt the fact I do not have medical budget for cat atm bc I am spending it on me. He would be willing to go straight to steroids but would be much happier if we at least did ultrasound. This vet seems to be fairly good about balancing what things cost vs benefit to pet's health. Maybe I will put off my vein treatments.

And if it is cancer...I will keep her comfortable as long as she is still a happy playful cat.

We made the same decision regarding our (also black and tiny) grandpa cat. He has heart murmurs and his teeth would require treatment, but he also has severe kidney issues, so anesthesia might be harmful for him. As long as he's happy, has an appetite (even if he can't eat dry food anymore) and wants to cuddle, we will keep him in his home where he is safe and we can take care of him.

I'll be thinking of you for your dermatologist appointment!

I thought it was the thyroid too, Has Shadow been tested for diabetes? Can cause weight loss also. Good luck with your appointment today.

                      Let's hope it isn't serious.

Walked the 2.5 miles from work to dr as my exercise today.

Probably Basal Cell Carcinoma. Sent biopsy out and scheduled excision already bc dr is pretty certain. So... unscary cancer?

Thank you Redline sleep_twitch CODawn TheLibrarian Amirsh - Shadow would appreciate overhead punches, she plays w my shadow on the wall when I exercise lol.

I was hoping it was nothing but yes, definately better than melanoma. Give Shadow a cuddle from me.

Hoped it was nothing too, but that's one that should be maneageable, treatment and money Wise... Hugs and parts of the punches for you.
I understand for Shadow, it's not easy - but yeah, as long as they're playful and seem happy... Luna sends purrs.
