There are a bunch of Alamo Drafthouses around San Antonio for some reason. I can confirm that they certainly say they'll throw people out with no refund at the very least. Also, pretty good food.

        Feb 22nd - Thursday

So my kidlet woke up at just after 3 this morning and didn't go back to sleep until almost 5:30am.... I'm not sure exactly what caused the middle of the night upset. It could've been a bad dream, but he has no way of communicating that to me. I spent about forty minutes pretty much laying on top of him (he loves deep pressure) and singing to him before he was calm enough for me to leave him. The good thing that came from being up this early is that I got my meditating time done when it was super quiet around because I didn't go back to bed. I am certainly paying for that now though and I am sore! Maybe catch a quick power nap in a bit on the couch.

        Push-Up Master Challenge D24 ~ 30 cross tricep (advanced - 20/10)
Meditation Challenge D21 ~ Mantra + 18 minutes -- I don't do the OM mantra part of these days (they break my focus) so I choose a personal mantra for the day. Something I want to do better in some way that day or week. For today is was about being patient and relaxed despite being extremely tired.

        Full Pull Week 8 ~ 9 close grip pull-ups (36/63)

Carbon & Dust ~ Chapter 11 -- the overall difficultly level is a touch up and down with this one. The thing I dislike the most so far is how much time I am spending with my weight on my wrists for a lot of the workouts. I still have a cyst in my right wrist too so it can become very uncomfortable/slightly painful by the time I finish it up.

Combat HIIT Day 3 ~ Level 3 / 15 rounds -- I realized three rounds in that I forgot to add a minute rest to my exercise timer so I did all rounds with no rest between them. I didn't want to stop to edit it and then start over and it ended up not being that tough either.

Beginners Strength & Flexibility via YOGATX -- slightly longer one today because my son was interested in doing this with me.

        Fit Tap:
        20 dead bugs
        10 knee crunches
        20 knee-in & twists
        10 crunches
        10 sit-ups
        20 butterfly sit-ups
        10 matrix bends
        40 lunge step-ups
        20sec elbow plank
        40sec full plank

        ---

I think once I finish up Combat HIIT I will do Avatar Upgrade again. It was one of the first programs I did here and I would like to go through it fully on Level 3 the second time around. I'll probably pair it with a short lifting program as well.

And I'm thinking I'll go through Cardio Trim Run again once spring is here. That is still my favourite program!

I haven't done Spartan Trials and Power Cardio and I'm not sure when I will do them yet, but they'll get done eventually.

          Feb 23rd - Friday

Started my day off with some yoga -- Morning Yoga to Start Your Day via YOGATX

I'm sleepy and sore, especially my biceps from the back fists in Combat HIIT yesterday! Wowza! That's what I get for not taking that rest minute each set I guess.

          Push-Up Master Challenge D25 ~ 30 circle (advanced 20/10)
Meditation Challenge D22 ~ 1 minute equal breathing + 18 minutes -- I had perfect timing fitting this in just after lunch so I wasn't interrupted by anyone or anything.

          Full Pull Week 8 ~ 18 L-sit pull-ups on rings / 3 sets / 9-5-4 (54/63)

          Carbon & Dust ~ Chapter 12

          Combat HIIT Day 4 ~ Level 3 / 5 rounds (Abs)

I finally ordered some resistance bands and in between height parallel bars this afternoon. I have really short ones (5 inch ish) and then tall ones (2-2.5 feet ish) so it'll be nice to have something right in the middle to practice my levers, sits, and handstands on without intense fear of hurting myself when I fall. Cause yeah it's definitely going to happen!

Oh yes padding of all sorts is part of the plan! One hurtful tumble is all I need

                Feb 24th - Saturday

                Push-Up Master Challenge D26 ~ 30 push back (advanced + EC)

Meditation Challenge D23 ~ yoga + 18 minutes -- I did Wake Up & Connect (w/EC = poses held for 30sec) plus some additions to it to make it "flow" a little more from pose to pose. I started in tabletop, did a few cat-cow before moving to forward fold to start first exercise. From triangle pose I did a cobra-down dog vinyasa before moving into the yogi squat. And from the last pigeon pose I moved back through cobra-down dog vinyasa up to forward fold & finished mountain pose.

                Full Pull Week 8 ~ 9 chin-ups (slow) (63/63)

                Carbon & Dust ~ Chapter 13

Combat HIIT Day 5 ~ Level 3 / 15 rounds -- took the minute rest today, but I should've only taken half that I think. I didn't work up much of a sweat at all and my heart rate wasn't up there either. I think I'll give either a 30sec rest or no rest a go on the next 15 round day.

Only one more week of the regular routine being totally off kilter. I can't wait to get some semblance of a schedule set up for running (and my personal schedule as minimal as it is) again as it's been too hectic to even try right now.

I am so used to super 'flow-y' yoga now after so much YWA so I couldn't just do it as is without feeling disconnected from it. Nice and quick still and really could add whatever feels good for you to make it your own

And thanks! The kiddo's schedule is packed and hopefully getting out to the farm this week to romp in the forest/snow with puppers! Yoga/meditation is the only thing holding my sanity intact so far

Truth be told I have to actually give a lot of extra effort into making Combat HIIT work my cardio enough to be a true HIIT . Using the bag helps since that makes it harder, using light hand weights for punches and of course I move A LOT during the punches since I full on shadowbox . But yeah, over all it's a bit easy. I still like it. Cause punches and kicks....

I love the kicks. I honestly haven't done this much kicking since I was doing karate and it's fun. I can't get over how sore my biceps still are from the third day with back fists, just what...?
But I definitely need to find a way to amp up the intensity for sure. I'll have to see what kind of room I have around my bag upstairs if I can incorporate it because that would be a good idea.

                          Feb 25th - Sunday

Just over an hour of bouldering at the indoor climbing gym last night with my son and brother last night. My forearms and core, but RWC contributed to that too, are destroyed!!

Speaking of RWC my workout was Grounder and completed that on Level 3 for 5 sets with EC = 30sec rest. I crashed hard when I got to bed last night.

                          Push-Up Master Challenge D25 ~ 30 power (advanced 20/10)

Meditation Challenge and Yoga to be done later this evening after I'm back home and relaxed for the night.

                          Carbon & Dust ~ Chapter 14

                          Combat HIIT Day 6 ~ Level 3 / 5 rounds

                          ---

Biggest kerfuffle this afternoon when going to swimming lessons...
My son has become strangely attached to this sponge he's decorated. Like deteriorates into a total state of panic (violent/aggressive/screaming/crying/hurting himself or others) if it is out of his sight (or anything falls off of it) kind of attached and a small paper clip fell off while driving to lessons. Well this was the backseat of my car and then some I had to nearly drag him from it and into the building when we got there! I physically changed him into his swim suit and carried him (over 80lbs) thrashing/kicking/hitting plus his winter coat/boots, towel and clothes to the main pool. It's amazing how people either don't give a crap or are completely oblivious to what's going on around them. I stood at the door to go into the pool deck for nearly five minutes holding the previously stated just attempting to get through it

Anyway hopefully his indoor sports program will be a better outing this evening and even if it isn't at least I can stay home and relax some afterwards. I'm looking forward to yoga tonight big time!

Thanks Candace! It affected me more than I thought it did, but I didn't notice until my drive home how wound up it got me. Weird sponge-y is likely gonna "magically" disappear tonight!

I know it's not quite the same but my daughter has a blankie and there were times we forgot it and that back seat scene you depicted....yeah....ive seen this. And we have driven 30 minutes back home to go get it.
Lastest one was a freaking hard boiled egg....seriously ...she somehow snuck it in her room and decorated it with glitter. I found it under her pillow! I'm like you know how bad that's gonna smell??!! Luckily it was only a 30 minute episode of weeping "for her loss"
Hopefully the execution of the werid spongy goes with out hiccup.
Those fits do get to you! In the moment I think the adrenaline and being occupied with strategizing how to make it end hides the tension til later. I think my shoulders can touch my ears ...lol
