I've never competed in a race, but I've had a look at the typical route of the Marseille marathon, and yes, most of it is along the coastline, in some of the most beautiful parts of the city. If you choose to have a go at this one, you absolutely have to let me know, though! It would be super cool to meet up, beforehand or afterwards.

I don't know much about Paris Marathon, sorry... However, there is a Marathon in my part of the Breton woods:

No idea how good/bad the organisation is, but the area is just splendid (not as warm as Marseille though, I will conceide that, LOL), one of the coastal areas with the highest tides, and Mont St Michel, the jewel in the sea...

This is the most time I've spent at my computer over the duration of a week in quite some time. It's a nice break from punching The two (ish) weeks leading up to Battleground I got another cold, the kiddo got a cold, and the ankle ache flared up again. I saw my doc this week and going in for xrays, a massage in the near future, and a gait assessment. He feels that is it likely tendonitis, but I guess I'll see what happens. Sooo.... sadly marathon training is kind of on hold for the time being. He didn't right out tell me no more running as I never run through pain or even attempt it if I am hurting so he left that to more discretion. I'll take it day by day for now. In the mean time I am re-doing Boxer Prime as the first time around I think I only did Level 1 and I'm pretty sure that was the winter I had bronchitis too. Level 3 all the way the second time around!

Thanks! I am fortunate that he actually enjoys stuff like this and doing it with me too. The one armed jabs made him lose his mind it was hilarious It would be awesome to get him either back into Karate or something like it here. But, unfortunately, not a lot of places are willing to modify teaching to take on Spectrum kiddos. Fingers crossed I manage to find (or stumble across - not picky) more opportunities for him this year!

Geez ~ I used to be so great at daily check-ins and now I can't seem to make it happen!

I got exactly three weeks into Boxer Prime on Level 3 and then lost motivation like I often do for any kind of program. That 3 week mark is consistently a challenge for me and it doesn't help that I am fully resting from running so I am a touched bummed at the moment. A happy note is that my ankle/calf feel great! The rest and massive amount of foam rolling/massage is doing wonders. I see a massage therapist in a few weeks and I am hoping to start up marathon training again around that time as well if everything is feeling perfect.

And now to a exciting piece of news! I am invited to run for Autism Speaks in the NYC Marathon at the beginning of November this year I hummed and hawed about it for almost a week before I said I would do it and I am stoked! It's an organization that is in both Canada and the US and I've used services/resources for myself and my son through them here so it's incredibly cool to be able to a part of this team.

This is why I am chilled out on the running at the moment so when I start my training back up I won't muck anything up for myself physically. Even though it's utterly bumming me out at the moment I know it's the best decision for this long term goal. In other news... I may have found a place to do some BJJ here and I'm doing a class next week. If I enjoy it then I'll probably get some private lessons for my son as well to see if he likes it at all. I spoke to the owner this morning and he seems like a rad, easy-going guy so I'm looking forward to getting this started.

Right now I am mostly doing the WoD's and daily yoga as I can't seem to get fully immersed in any programs at the moment. Nothing is staying interesting long enough so I'll stick with the WoD for now I think. Plus, this gets me doing some workouts that I've never done before and honestly probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

The only other things I am doing at the moment is a crap-ton of walking, meditation every day, the Iron Will & Dead Hang Challenge and I am doing an athleticism pole dancing class every Wednesday morning.
