Good to hear from you. Looks like you did well.
About running shoes. I am no runner, but I use leguanos during the day, They are like protected socks and were invented by a runner and a doc. But I don't know if they are avaible in Canada.

I have not used their zero drop ones (or reslly forced myself to run much) but I am a Merrill fan in general. I am going on my 5th or so pair of their trail runners (which are minimal enough I use them as an everything shoe BUT pavement eats them), and I have/love their winter hiking boots as snow boots, am on my 3rd winter w them.

Thanks for the shoe feedback guys!

xingyiquan and 'rin -- I know I can get my hands on either of these brands in at least one store here so looks like I am back to doing some shoe shopping! Fingers crossed a friend of mine can hook me up when/if I do find something

HellYeah -- I'd never heard of these shoes before today and there is totally a site I can order from and they ship to Canada. They look amazing! If I don't find anything locally then I will definitely give them a try. They are exactly what I am looking for running shoes

            Dec 16 - Sunday

Normally today would be a recovery run day, but since I was knocked on my butt fighting off this stupid cold the other half has at the moment, I definitely didn't run yesterday. So, I took it as my rest day instead of Monday (and some push-ups for my ornament) and I did some yoga, more push-ups and core workout today. I'll do an inbetween run at the track tomorrow morning in lieu of my fugded up weekend and then I'll be back on track.

            Push-ups on Friday: 119 from upperbody workout (37-31-27-24) + 100 regular (4 sets of 25 reps) + 25 sphinx + 9 from Never have I ever...
            Push-ups yesterday: 120 regular (4 sets of 30 reps)
            Push-ups today: 160 wide (4 sets of 40 reps)

            Epic Hammer achieved!

Core Workout / 4 sets / no rest between exercises / 90sec rest between sets
            40 tornadoes
            30 side bends
            20 leg raises
            10 sec hollow hold

Congrats on earning your Epic Hammer, Val!

Alright! I am hoping this year I stay a bit more on track with checking-in, especially considering I have such a great schedule going on for training at the moment too. From basically the middle of December until nearly the end of the month I had a stupid chest cold that I was worried was something much worse, but it was not and I am feeling a hundred percent again! Unfortunately it hard derailed my running for those two weeks and if I want to keep it on track for the marathon at the beginning of May then I need to change as little as possible for my upcoming miles in the plan. Fingers crossed I can make it happen and that my right ankle stays feeling good. It hasn't bothered me since I stopped using the New Balance kicks so I don't think it'll be an issue anymore.

Honestly gross AF and while I absolutely loathe these kinds of workouts while I am doing them, I feel amazing afterwards! My arms and inner thighs are still so sore today and it's been two days since doing it. I will be doing more stuff like this once a week as I can't afford a track pass this month and these will replace my speed runs for the next few weeks.

Ab Challenge D1 ~ 20 sit-up twists, 40 flutter kicks, and 30sec elbow plank to 30sec side elbow plank each side ] no rest between exercises / once through

                      On two side notes....
First, I will be playing the thread catch-up game for the rest of the week so you are forewarned

And secondly, I am looking at marathons in either France or New Zealand in probably 2020. The two I have on my radar in France are Nantes and Marseille (leaning toward the latter because it looks so flippin' beautiful ) and the Auckland marathon in New Zealand is the other one. Any France or New Zealand bees that can recommend any races to me?

You'll get there, keep at it! My only local friend that runs has a "comfy" pace of 4:30 per km I feel like a snail compared to her!
If you knock out a weekly speed run out you'll find yourself a little faster every week on your chill runs. Personally, I loathe the darn things though so my pace hasn't changed much since the summer

The most interesting race around Montpellier is this trail https://runedia.mundodeportivo.com/f...019/201912351/
for marathon running I think Paris is clearly a good choice...
