Teacher's journey in the Starry Jungle.

Hi, everyone! I'm Stella, I'm 28 years old, student and teacher of English Education in the same university.

After being around posting on the daily dares for some days, I considered it was time to just introduce myself and start a fitness journal. Brace yourself for a possible messy writing, because I'm rarely good at these kind of posts.

I used to practice taekwondo and tennis a few years ago, but after two herniated discs on my lower back were detected, I stopped with sports and had to go to rehab for a while, when the pain stopped, I was sent a few daily exercises, and to keep my weight as it was. Nevertheless, I didn't keep the necessary determination to continue with them, since the pain stopped.

I found DAREBEE after restarting to workout, on some post at Pinterest. The previous recommended routines —made by some people, out of the site— I've done under recommendations, seemed to have no effect on me and on top of that, I was basically lost on how to train. So, when I came to this site, I was glad at how organized it is. So I decided to try the Athena's Playbook program, since I was content with the results I've got from a few workouts. When I concluded it, I couldn't help but to feel motivated to continue with others.

I'm currently doing the Totals one, as well as the good August Challenge. I do daily dares when I can, and any other Workout of the Day when I feel like it. I've just started with the Meditation challenge, taking advantage of my long break. I'm also doing my best at the Mass Effect Diet for weight gain, since a food situation in the country happened, and I lost a lot of weight. However, said situation has stabilized somehow, but sometimes costs me to follow the diet because of sleep issues. I find really difficult to fall asleep early.

Anyway, I'll be updating you. Mighty success for everyone on their fitness journey!

Thank you so much, TheLibrarian, Nielsen, Mamatigerj! I hope you're all doing great.

              Wake Up Time: 11:30am
              Number of Meals: 5

              Totals Program: Day 14 Done.
              50 Push-Ups Challenge: Day 2 Done.
              Meditation Challenge: Day 2 Done.
Daily Dare: Scorpion Twists. Done with EC.

              Daily Dares Done: 8

              Additional Notes:

The Scorpion Twists are so great for my lower back, I wish my therapist would have taught me those back when I was in rehab, they really benefit the posture when you're done with them.

I'll update the meal count by the end of this day.

                Aug 3rd, 2017 Report:

                Wake Up Time: 8:30am
                - The Right Side Workout
                Number of Meals: 4

                Totals Program: Day 15 Done.
                50 Push-Ups Challenge: Day 3 Done.
                Meditation Challenge: Day 3 Done.

Daily Dare: 5 minutes of Punches. Done with EC.
                Daily Dares Done: 9

                EXTRA:

Workout of the Day: Lower Back
                Elbow Plank 30 secs
                Anchor Workout

                Additional Notes:

I managed to wake up early despite of falling asleep late, I guess the alarm from my tablet does better at waking me up than the one on my phone. The Lower Back workout was a great one to start the day with, considering my particular problem with the spinal herniated discs. Most of them matched the routine I was supposed to do after I got out of rehab.

Both challenges covered the Totals program day, because it was about push ups and punches. I managed to do 486 punches non-stop, probably more since I lost count more than once. I could feel how my arms are getting stronger, if not bigger, I'm starting to fear for my long-sleeved sweaters.

I don't know if you guys know Habitica, but the site has a Plank a Day challenge, so I started yesterday with 15 secs.

I did my Meditation Challenge Day with no problem, I can focus better.

Since I was feeling as if I didn't workout at all, I decided to look for something to do, so I chose the Anchor W/O for balance, I had to repeat it like 3 times each leg, because I would make mistakes any other time. I might set it as permanent, since I can be pretty weak sometimes in that area.

I still feel fresh, but I won't keep working out for the day, despite the energy I still have.

Hope you guys are doing great!

P.S: I just went to the bathroom, and my collarbones are finally looking decent, as well as my chest. It was alarming how the bones could be seen. I'll try to weight myself soon.

                  Elbow Plank: +1min

                  Additional Notes:

My internet provider left me disconnected from the site for the entire day, so I couldn't enter on any way until now, so I just stuck with the basics or what I counted with, being that the Totals program, the Push-Ups, and the Meditation Challenge.

                  Hope everyone's doing good!

                    Elbow Plank: 1min

                    Additional Notes:

God, my upper body hurt —especially the ribs — in the afternoon, when I tried to warmup, but then it got better after starting to workout. I performed everything with no difficult. I added a stretching workout (I added the warmup to the list as well, but I've done that all these days before working out) after reading how important it is. However, I do have to point out that the push-ups were a bit challenging today, I guess my body, or at least my upper body, just wasn't in the mood for them.

Keep up the good job everyone!

                      Additional Notes:

The internet played one on me so I couldn't write earlier. My body was in a better condition today so I did everything without problem, my arms are feeling stronger and I can remain in focus during meditation. The exception was the daily dare, I think my body is not ready for doing shrimp squats, I felt like I was gonna fall or lose balance as soon as my knee hit the floor. I was going to try the workout of the day (Advanced Iron Bar) instead, but by half the first sequence I felt my quad muscle twitching so I stopped and didn't continue. I guess it wasn't a good idea to try after the 200 knee-to-elbow and 200 jumping jacks.

Hope you guys are doing great!

Maybe the Foundation Light or Foundation Programm is something for you as well.

                            Additional Notes:

So, I've started with the Foundation Light program today, couldn't go with Totals because my period got me, and I spent the whole afternoon in bed because of the terrible pain. After a nap, I felt like my body was kicked until my ribs were broken, I recovered fast though, I've had worse days believe me. Way later after I ate and felt much better, I did the uppercuts, push-ups, plank and meditation (the backup & restore workout did great for my back), all slow and with care. I really hope I can do the whole drill tomorrow.

Hope you guys are good and healthy!

Obviously I'm not really the right person to ask but this Ladies Holiday Practice might be something you find usefull. I enjoy how she leads classes and while I never bothered for this paticular one it should still be pretty good. Get better soon!
