lpf's honeycomb of experiments, challenges, programs and other things for science

    Long title, no sense...

    So, here we go...
Today I started the Fighter's Codex... Day 1 was real fun, even if I looked like C-3PO trying to be a ballerina...
Because I've also started this fantastic experiment of 300 push-ups and 300 alt bicep curls, which I modified to 150 bicep curls with a barbell (I asked for that!!), I did the filler with 10 bounces, 20 push-ups, 10 bicep curls...
So, still 80 push-ups and 40 bicep curls to go for today... :flex:

And, because this is all not enough (I'm lying!), I practiced pistol squats... well, for this funny challenge... and I managed to do 4, before I overbalanced....

    That's it for today...
Hope my arms will still follow me tomorrow...

Hah! I loved Fighters Codex. I think I looked similar to C-3PO trying to be a ballerina as well when I first started...or a cracked out spasmodic chicken..one or the other. ( sometimes still do ) But Holy crap adding 300 push-ups and 300 alt bicep curls to it.... That's crazy! I will be following this thread lol
    Oh and good job!

Day 2 of Fighter's Codex... Speed Day... YEAH!!! It looked like totally freaking out and crazy throwing legs and arms...
But it was fun... well, except for this crazy idea of filling the 1 minute break with push-ups and bicep curls...
So it was 20 minutes of hell! 20 minutes of trying to die or whatever...
I feel like one of this toys, when you push the button, it collapses...

All push-ups and bicep curls done for today...
To finish this entry, I will share some thoughts I had today about being crazy and nuts...

Well, yes I am crazy and nuts, in a certain way... But regarding to sports, fitness and things, I always want to challenge myself with myself, try to be better than yesterday,
try different things out, test things, but only as long as I feel comfortable being out of my comfort zone... you know what I mean? go to the limit, but stop, when you feel like it hurts...
For example my obstacle race, the first time I did this in 2009, almost everybody of my family and friends said, you are crazy... They didn't even think, I would finish...
when the first round was done, I thought: "now you can stop, you're better, than anyone has thought, but it doesn't really hurt (o; ... I want to finish it completely!" So I did both rounds...
On the other hand, the day I tried a marathon, I had to finish after 21km, because my body and mind said "No!!" and I stopped... which was the best thing to do on that day for me...
That's one of the things I learned doing sports, fitness... sometimes you have to push yourself over your limits and sometimes you have to take a step back to get over your limits, sometimes you have to try different things, sometimes you have to stick to one thing longer than to others...
There are so many things I hate doing, like bench presses for example... but I do it, because I want to be able to press my own weight, at least... (I have to practice a lot for this... and I mean A LOT!!)
Some might say that this is crazy or weird, why do you want this, for what is it worth? Others will say, go on! Do this!

So, I will go on and do this! Do all I want to try! Push myself, challenge myself!

So that's it for today. Good night!

PS: After my 10 days of curls and pushes... I will give this a try. Just because I want! And because I think it is like doing martial arts, total control of your body...

Day 3 "Power Day" .... no more power left...

just for the record: Did all my bicep curls throughout the day, except for 60... Started Power Day with 30 curls, did Power Day on lvl 3, added 5 push-ups at the end, so it were 30 push-ups per set and with 10 sets all my push-ups were done for today... YEAH!!! :bunny3::bunny10:
rest time was: no rest, no rest, 30 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 1 minute, 1,5 minutes, 1,5 minutes, 2 minutes...:bunny14:
                Finished all with 30 curls...
That's enough for today... yes, really!

When I finished, I was like: punching my fists in the air and growled, nah... screamed more: "Yeah!!!! I'm... Yeah!!!!“

Day 4 of the Fighter's Codex.... Van Damme Tribute... well, I don't think, he would be proud of me... but later to this...

First: All 300 push-ups and all 300 bicep curls done, did the 180 Action Workout because of the Workout Challenge thread, on lvl 2...
tried pistol squats for the other challenge, did 6 or 7 and lost balance... video is a way too dark... so you can't really see, what I'm doing...

And then I did day 4 of the Codex... I cannot reach my feet for standing toe stretching or hamstring stretch... and for the split... a truck could drive through this...
but that was one of the reasons, I chose the Codex... I want to get more flexible
To get something out of the standing toe and the hamstring stretch, I used a jump rope, put it under my feet and pulled myself forward to the feet on/with the rope...
                          I hope this is okay??

You must have very long legs

The rope trick is actually perfect! some people use bands made just for that. So, the rope is a great way to help yourself along in getting to your toes.
Also....I know it makes it hurt a bit more bit DO pull your toes back toward you to engage your calf muscles.
