                    Sunday, 31 March 2019

I went to the gym with my daughter this morning instead of taking a walk.
                    • 5 minutes on the stair climber as a warm-up
                    • 10 minutes on the elliptical
                    • 15 minutes on a different type of elliptical
                    • 10 minutes on the treadmill as a cool-down

The Plan for April*Trying to do two programs might be too much, especially for someone of my low fitness level, but i really want to start doing some strength training. I will likely be using lighter weights for Ironborn, and i may do fewer sets for Cardio GO! Worst-case scenario: I will drop one of the programs. If anyone has suggestions or other thoughts, I am very teachable!

You could alternate the programs. One day Cardio Go and the next day Ironborn and so on if you are worried it might be too much otherwise.

I second BusyBumbleBee 's suggestion. If you want to work on both cardio and strength training, you need to stick with both programs* but you do not need to do both every day.
                          * Cardio Go will provide you with lower-body strength-training benefits, but there is not much in it for the upper body. Ironborn has a strong emphasis on upper body strength.

I am doing something similar myself this month, with Ironborn and Power Cardio. Ironborn has a 4 day rotation of training focus (day 1: shoulders, chest & triceps, day 2: back & biceps, day 3: legs, day 4: abs). Power Cardio also has a 4 day structure (day 1: high intensity cardio, day 2: abs, day 3: mix of cardio & upper body strength, day 4: challenge). I set up a schedule for myself that takes me through one rotation of each program every week. (See the right-hand side of this sheet.)

All of the Cardio Go days have the same type of exercise--all lower body stuff. So if you wanted to set up a weekly schedule like mine, I would suggest you skip Cardio Go on the days you do Ironborn legs and maybe abs (the Cardio Go exercises and Ironborn abs days both work your hip flexors and abductors quite a bit). But the training focus between Ironborn upper body days and Cardio Go is so different, you may be fine to double up on those days (if you have the time to do both).

Thank you BusyBumbleBee and Rainbow Dragon for your feedback. I had actually originally thought to alternate the programs, but then thought I "shouldn't" (not really sure why.)
After making up a chart of my own
i am now thinking about doing Ironborn on Tuesdays - Fridays (since it is a four day rotation, and because those days have similar schedules for me.) Then I will work through Cardio Go on Saturdays - Mondays. It isn't alternating the 2 programs daily, but do you think it could work?

Monday, 1 April 2019My starting weight for this month is 202. I am already down 4 pounds from what I weighed on Thursday when i decided to get back on track! I know that it will not continue to drop at this rate, but I do find it extremely motivating after being so far off track for so long!! Seeing that first digit change to a 1 is my next mini-goal.
