    evening
    DD + EC ~ i loved this!
Hour Glass Workout ~ i saw this on rawcookie's thread and liked the look of it, so i tried it this afternoon. It is the first workout i have done with 5 sets, which i figured would be a good preview for next month when i plan to go back through Foundation Light at level 2. Overall, it went well, although the lunges were a challenge, very wobbly and i certainly didn't get very low, but i did them!
Walkabout Challenge ~ 14,600+ steps; 21 of 30 days marked off.

      morning
      3.74 mile walk
Foundation Light, level 1, day 25 ~ i feel very awkward when i do the Fighter moves; i am quite sure that my form is all wrong, and i think that i probably look rather more like some type of demented disco dancer than any kind of badass.
      I persevere nonetheless!

Just plain doing the fighter moves over and over again will teach your body. Your body will optimize the movement to conserve energy. So after a month of doing fighter moves (if you did Combat HIIT next? Hint, hint) you'll be much more sleek and stylish while you fight!

(The awesome thing about any of the HIIT programs - you only do as much as you can in the time they give you. So if they say do kicks for 30s, it doesn't matter how many you do, only that you don't stop for 30s. There's no pressure to complete a certain number. It's okay if you're slow!)

Great job on all your hard work today!

Joomju, thank you for the encouragement and the information.

I will admit that i have avoided even looking at any of the HIIT programs, because i am starting at such a low fitness level, and quite frankly, they scared me!I will look into them now with a different perspective.

(Incidentally, i love Calvin & Hobbes!)

My first time doing HIIT I could only do two burpees in the allotted time. There's absolutely no penalty for being at a beginner's fitness level!

I look really silly when I'm trying to plank right now. Nobody on the Hive notices or comments on it, they're very nice that way.

I also did the Tree Pose again just because i enjoyed it so much, and i wanted to see how long i could hold it: 3:15 the first side & just over 2:00 the second.

You're not alone, there! I also feel really awkward when I do them, but I think that with time and practice it really helps.

                  morning
                  3.09 mile walk
Foundation Light, level 1, day 26
Then i did some neck, shoulder, and arm stretches, because they felt pretty tight after the workout.

                  dendus, we got this!

After doing the "stretching" day on FL1, I spent some time just holding each stretch for similar tightness reasons. Yay for listening to our bodies!

I was hoping to start the "from walk to run" course, today. I think I'm going to wait until I'm back on track with TuxeDog's walks for that. Do you walk the same route every day? Or change it up?

I see on your profile that you're also doing bellydance videos! I used to take belly dance classes. Finance and time priorities don't allow for that right now. I really miss it though.

you are not alone here. I feel ABSURD doing fighter moves. Did a cardio workout involving, literally, 2000 punches @ the gyn today and all I could think the whole time is "why did I not do this at home?". But, whatever...if I am moving in the right general directions I am prolly using the right general muscles, and I'm assuming that repeated vid watching + doing the next combat workout will clean up my form....And if not, at the very least it's cardio >.>

Caesg I do vary my walking route, but i pretty much walk in my neighbourhood and the surrounding ones, so there isn't much variety. I love walking (and hiking when the weather is cooler) but i have no desire to run! I wish you well on the walk to run course, though.
What type of dog do you have?

Someday i would like to take Belly Dance lessons, but, yes, right now my financial priorities are otherwise.
