Yes, bdthom, i have been to Forks a time or two. I love the peninsula, and spent many a summer vacation driving hwy 101 (and hiking in the rainforests!)

I find it interesting that Seattle and Austin have fairly close annual precip totals, 37.7 & 34.2, a 2.5 inch difference. Seattle's comes mostly in the late fall & throughout the winter. Winter is the driest season in Central Texas; thunderstorms in the spring & fall bring most of Austin's rain.
    Oh, and it rarely drizzles

Mamatigerj It's soooo good that you tried running, good luck with it! I'm still wondering about this "Walking to Running" plan - yeah, I feel curious about it too, and would like to try it to get some new experience, by I feel myself not ready yet. Maybe, in September...(For now, I run only when I need to catch up with the bus, what happens not so often)
I'm very interested to read about your experience with running, I hope it will be positive experience for you.

But what a crossbreed! They are all excellent creatures! Where would Wales be without our dragon? And our sheep? I don't think we have any tigers, but they're pretty damn cool too.

AglavraOwl, i have committed myself to doing the first 3 days, really just to see if my body could!
I doubt that i will stick with it at this point.
I may try again down the road, when the weather is cooler and i have lost more weight.
                  Thank you for the encouragement!

Running is definitely easier to get into during periods of favourable weather.

Mamatigerj By the way, have you ever tried Nordic Walking ? I like it much, because it gives more work to different muscle groups than walking, but at the same time it is more gentle about your joints, especially knees. From my own experience I found, that it is very good for posture improvement.

I will have to look into that.

                            morning
                            ▪5.61 mile walk*
                            ▪Posture Challenge: day 20; set 1
                            ▪Foundation Light: day 20

*No From Walking to Running. Day 3 was supposed to be 2× 2 min walk/2 min run. I could not run for 2 minutes, and my left knee hurt. At this point i would rather just stick with walking.

I like the idea of you doing Nordic Walking in Texas 2 minutes is a long time to run so soon after starting, I know I'd struggle with that. I hope your knee is better soon

I agree with Zastria . 2 minutes is a long time to run on day 3. There are programs available that go much slower then that. Or, you can go out and do intervals that feel good for you. Doing a couple 30 second runs when out for your walks is a start. Knee pain can be weakness in the hips and glutes. Darebee has several good strength and mobility workouts for knee health. If you still want to run in the future, targeting these areas now will build a good foundation. I wish I had done that. Hope your pain goes away soon.
