That's great work from you both. Norma's consistency is admirable but she probably wouldn't have done so well without a little draconic help...

PetiteSheWolf there definitely should be a badge for "I served as my octogenarian mother's personal trainer for 2 years and lived to tell the tale."

Here is my blog post about our first two years of training together, published today on Fit is a Feminist Issue: Modified Mindsets and Adapted Asanas: A Pandemic-Inspired Family Fitness Journey

I shot the promised video of myself demonstrating more standard versions of Sun Salutations A & B, but I'm waiting for a time of less talking in my household so I can dub in clean audio cues.

This is an excellent article, Laura. I am still *so* impressed with your patience. I would have struggled so hard with my mom too, but not succeeded like you did. I *did* try, but not living with her, or even near her made the challenge so much more easy to wave off…Your mom sounds so similar to every other 80ish person I have ever come across in my nursing life, with their “kids.” My stepmom is now 79, and, guess what: she won’t move, either. Except to walk in the stores and work a little in the yard…*sigh.* Gravity’s call is strong🙄

I should do something like this with my father but I'm not brave enough

A couple of misses over the past couple of weeks. But I put in 6 hours of writing work March 13-19 and 14 hours of artwork and 5.5 hours working out March 6-12. So that all evens out in the wash. (Apart from still not doing any running.)

GOBOT and GBOT were pretty good March 6-12 but a mess again March 13-19. Definitely still a work-in-progress here.

I completed 200 days of dolphin pose and 100 days of forearm balance. Following on from that I decided to go with 100 days of meditation, plus maintaining my minimum 15 minutes/day of yoga streak. (This includes vinyasa, restorative yoga, and meditation.)

Streak Stats as of end of day March 19:

                                Daily Workout: 696 days
                                Daily French: 494 days
Daily Workout for Norma : 731 days
                                Daily Yoga Practice: 18 days
100 Days of Meditation: day 5
