      November 29:

      GOBOT: - consecutive day 2
      Exercise: - consecutive day 586
      French: - consecutive day 384
      YTT: - consecutive day 19
      Asana: - consecutive day 19
      Art:
      GBOT: - consecutive day 2

      hiking: none.
workout w. Norma : 23:50 - Day 620 - started our new program (except for Ironheart, which we're not starting until Thursday)
      dolphin-a-day: 1 minute - Day 95
      yoga flow: 15 minutes
French study: Netflix ("Rita"), correspondence on FB
      YTT: The Practice: Final Practicum*
Art: still need to get back on the ball with this

      * This completes the first half of my YTT. The material in the first half was all foundational in nature and all review for me. (This was expected. I have a lot more experience with yoga than your average 200 hr. YTT student.) I won't be jumping into the second module of the training immediately since I still have a few workouts associated with the first module I want to complete. (I have lifetime access to many of Bri's workouts on Alo Moves because I purchased them back when the site was still Cody App and sold lifetime access to individual programs à la carte. When the workout assigned for a day's training in the YTT program is one I've done before, I haven't always completed the suggested workout at this time. But for the newer programs which were only ever available under Alo's subscription model, I want to try them at least once this year while I have subscription access.) I'll be finishing up those workouts over the next few days and viewing some of the supplementary materials for the training component. Then I shall commence Module 2. I will (hopefully) want to take Module 2 at a slower pace than I did Module 1. So I may adjust my star levels for the YTT at that point. We will see.

DorothyMH yep! Except that now I have to also plan around the fact that Norma is doing three fitness classes a week at our local seniors' centre! (Hence the reason why we're not starting Ironheart until Thursday. I didn't want the IH tendon strength day to be Wednesdays since Norma 's Wendesday seniors' class includes that type of work too.)

workout w. Norma : 60 minutes! - Day 622 - we did yoga for an hour! 18 minutes of standing poses, followed by 42 minutes of restorative work. the first 40 minutes or so actually went well. I figured out modifications and prop assists for a lot of poses my mother had not previously been able to do, and she mostly worked with me and followed my cues. around the 40 minute mark, however, she lost focus. Things went downhill quickly after that. I will check with the other folks in my YTT to see if anyone has experience with and tips for giving private lessons to cantankerous 80-year-olds. But I suspect the solution may simply be to just keep our sessions shorter. (Our DAREBEE workouts tend to go downhill if they are too long too.)

hiking: 6 km - short walks with the pups in town, plus a short hike in Rondeau. Saw lots of ducks and gulls, plus one Bald Eagle. All pretty far away though, so no good bird photos from this day. I enjoyed a relaxing meditation on the beach.

The Rondeau peninsula beach, view looking south from the North end of the peninsula, with Lake Erie on the left, and the Rondeau beach and dune habitats on the right.

We did have snow here. For about five minutes. But daytime highs are still well above freezing most days.

Wrt the 80 yo attention span? Yeah, they lose focus if a task is over 30-40 mins. Sure explains some of our lack of progress in Congress here
