(The birds planted this Eastern Red Cedar right outside our dining room window a few years back. Now they visit it all the time.)

                      Glad you like!

We had quite an assortment of birds visit our yard all at once yesterday, so I took my camera outside to try to get some better shots. The Cedar Waxwings spent quite a bit of time in the tree pictured. (Makes sense. It's an Eastern Red Cedar. Cedar Waxwings get their name from their love for small, berry-like, cedar cones.) Unfortunately, they spent most of their time on the shady side of the tree, and the only photos I managed to get with good lighting were the two I posted above, with the bird in its funky, upside-down hang. The robin, on the other hand, obliged me by sitting pretty, right in the sunshine, nicely framed by the cedar boughs.

Robins are so familiar, it's really sweet. Plus no mark around their eyes to make them seem threatening/mysterious, and their floofiness (OK, not a real word but I am sure you understand, LOL)... They're the "puppy dogs" of birds.

floofiness. noun. The state of being floofy.

                            Totally a real word!

I love the waxwings with their mysterious masks, though.
