twinkletoes the Yoga Challenge classes are pretty basic for me. But I think it is a good thing to sometimes revisit the basics. External hip rotation has always come easily to me, so the Day 1 poses were nice and relaxing for me. Backbends I have struggled with more, but the ones in the Day 8 class are all pretty basic and not a challenge for me now. I do think the Day 8 class is not a great one for actually getting into wheel pose. Erin teaches a good progression in that class. But there is a lot of resting in between poses. So you don't really get warmed up. I did do wheel pose at the end. But only because I knew it was coming. So I skipped the breaks and did extra reps of camel and bridge instead. So my back was ready for wheel by the end. If I had been following the video strictly, I probably would have skipped wheel.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The advanced videos, rather than being actual practices, feel more like a nice progressional guide how to train for Wheel Pose (or soon Yoga Splits & Headstand) if you choose to do that prep work regularly.

Most days, BusyBumbleBee . I do a flow practice every day that's typically 45-75 minutes but could be as short as 30 minutes if I'm pressed for time or as long as 90 minutes when I can devote a bit more time to it. Five days a week I do a second specialized practice that is focused on backbends, inversions, core strength, or upper body strength. That is anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. I also do a short mobility class (~15 minutes) six days a week, a 30-45 minute restorative class 5x/week, and I do a guided meditation on gratitude that is 11 minutes and 46 seconds every day. (I know the exact time on that one as I've logged the same class every day since my birthday back in January.) Some days I don't get to everything on my schedule, but then I try to do extra on the weekend to catch up.

So far the walkabout challenge is not challenging for me twinkletoes as I'm still on the first week, which only goes up to 7500 metres. (I'm doing a modified version of the challenge, aiming for the same # of metres each day as the challenge calls for in steps.) I walk my 2 dogs 3K each every day. (They are too much of a handful to walk together.) So that's the first 6000 metres covered without doing any extra work. I'll need to put in considerably more effort to do the 16K in one day called for by the end of the challenge. But I'm hoping to be running regularly again by then, approximately 6K a day, which will help. (I have really backed off from running the past few months as I've had some issues with plantar fasciitis in my right foot, which running was aggravating. That is largely cleared up now, however, so it's time to get back at it.) The rest I should be able to make up by doing most of my errands on foot, doing a bit of a longer run on some days, and/or just going for an extra walk by myself. The extra solo walk would be really nice. I love my dogs. But one feels the need to stop and sniff every blade of grass. The other pulls aggressively whenever we encounter a cat, a rabbit, another dog, a person, a bird, or a squirrel--and sometimes mistakes leaves blowing in the wind, bundled newspapers tossed in people's driveways, landscaping rocks, and other random shadows for one of the above. It is nice to sometimes be able to walk at my own pace without a fight.

Haha, the summary of your dogs made me laugh, they sound super cute as well as hard to handle on a walk.
That's an interesting modification, I hope the running part will be okay for your foot this time. Plantar fasciitis is so nasty and takes ages to go away.

Thank you, twinkletoes . The PF has been bothering me since January. But I finally wised up and started doing therapy for it daily. Plus I warm up my foot really well before running now. These 2 things have made a big difference.

My dogs are super cute. And they know it. (Cheeky little minxes!)
What will you give us for being cute?

Push-ups are way harder for me than planks. So I was a bit worried about the combination. When I actually got down to do them, however, they were fine.)
