    April 8 >>>>>> 24 <<<<<<

Walked during lunch, a little over a mile.

I was disappointed to see one of the eggs was missing out of the nest Ive been watching. Also there was no parent there with the nest, although one was calling out behind me, i never saw her. I passed by it 4 times and only heard her during my first pass as I stopped in front of the nest. I have only ever seen one hanging around the nest as it is...

After work - walking with my dogs, some light jogging for a short bit - did not track

Killdeer's attentiveness to their nests is very variable. Different studies have shown a wide range of differences in when incubation begins, what percentage of time the parents spend incubating the eggs, which parent does the most incubating, etc. Killdeer parents also spend time cooling their eggs in hotter climates. Since killdeer rely on camouflage to protect their nests, it's likely the nearby parent would not approach the nest with you in the vicinity, hoping that if there's no adult bird there, you just would not notice the eggs.

        Walked during lunch, 3 laps.

Momma Killdeer was following me around the nest area this time.

After work - ran 2 miles! Slow, and would not have been able to do without that big hill I run down, but done none the less so I'll take it! Woot!

Rainbow Dragon the nesting ones I have observed in my area always fuss whenever you get close to their nest. Sometimes they will come directly at you, most times they go away from the nest and flail about(to me they are playing lame to attract attention away from the nest). This momma has done both as well as not budging from the nest and spreading her wings and tail feathers to cover it up when I pass by. Interesting little birds.

You have made some great observations of your killdeer! Thank you for sharing!

Do you know about Nest Watch? You would have some great data for them!

whats this? about to hit 30 days

                walking dogs Friday and Saturday.

Sunday walked dogs and painting door, moving heavy cabinets and such.
Monday - walking dogs a little, chasing down a bird to get pics only to find out my memory card was not in my camera

Then "gym" time with my son. His P.E. NTI session for Monday was:
                25 push-ups -(done on knees 5 at a time)
                40 sit -ups
                100 sec wall sit
100 sec plank (1:00 traditional plank, 40 sec on knees for me)
                35 squats

I am happy he insists I do this with him, it is making me do actual work outs instead of just walking

                      P.E. - Run/jog/walk 1.5 - 1.75

We walked a half mile to warm up, then started jogging...my son did not stay with it though, so I ran a mile and we walked the rest after he caught up to me(after i turned around lol)

Looks like my tracker stopped a little short of my complete distance @ 2.88 miles, i think it was a bit closer to 3 miles than that

Awe! What a beauty! And such great expression on a hard-to-photograph black pup too! She looks like a lot of lab to me.

ID:	679524roosterWith the Pandemic I don't get down as often to get pictures, and I also don't get as much info about the new intakes we are getting. Top dog is a beautiful brindle, i don't know his name, but he is very sweet. The second has been shown before, that's Dawson and he is a bundle of energy. I love this shot of him as he was lunging at me for luvins! The pretty boy on the bottom is a Lab. His name is Rooster and he has been here about a week or so. They were told he was a surrender, and no abuse is known but the poor boy was terrified when they brought him in. He wouldn't walk, he just crouched on the floor and wouldn't move. They had to bring a cart up to try and wheel him down, but he didn't like that. I believe an inmate ended up carrying him down because he didn't want to drag the poor dog all the way down to the dorms As you can see he is still not sure of his surroundings and I can only imagine how this poor dogs world must've been turned upside down when he was surrendered.
