    ~ okay, so life in general is gonna be different from now on, but the pursuit of gainz continues, even though it took a bit of a back seat, with our honeymoon.
    Though I can add, 'apart from the obvious', we weren't lounging about much and actually did quite a few hikes during the honeymoon,
    lots of sight seeing, even got around to go to a puzzle park! which was loads of fun.
    My wife and I will be starting to get the ball rolling proper, since we both want to participate in some OCRs early next year.
    So here's to a new chapter.

    So had to take an extra day, to recover properly. But back on the saddle.

    ~ run went alright mostly. I wore my previous pair of running shoes, but I think they have had their time, since my left knee started to act up a little.
    So guess that's a sign that they're retired.
    Nice sweat session with 30 Days of HIIT advanced today.

    ~ getting a pretty much back to the grind I was on, before the past Sunday's marathon.
    Could feel my ankles aren't quite 100% yet, during the run. So might have to just ease a little still on the high impact stuff,
    but other than that , it felt good to do pull-ups again.

    ~ moving a little more today, but kept it in the recovery zone, with Low Impact.
    It worked great as a recovery workout. Ought to start picking it up a little more, from tomorrow maybe.
    Will see what my body tells me.

    Cape Town Virtual Marathon (42.2km)

    Cape Town Virtual Marathon medal

    ~ a weekend of firsts. Cape Town Virtual Marathon ticked off of the list.
    To date; probably the most difficult thing I have ever done.


    The real battle started at round about 28km, when my body was starting to feel the strain. Legs and feet were getting real heavy.
    Since then, every couple of kilometers, I had to alternate between walking and running, just to get my legs and feet to recover a little.
    Those last 3 kilometers were purely mental. Since my quads started to cramp up and my feet were exhausted.
    But managed to dig deep and push through


    If you told me a year ago, that I would have finished a full marathon,
    I'd have told you, you're crazy!
    And yet...here we are. Who da thunk it?



    I'm dead.

    Yeah, I've also come to notice this kind of mix works pretty well, Fremen .

    ~ Bring on the weekend.
    Though I might have to tone it down tomorrow,
    and just do some maintenance,
    since I'll be doing the full Cape Town Virtual Marathon, Sunday.

    Not nervous at all.
