xingyiquan wow - I think my weekend is planned with writing down some things and hopefully coming back with a hell of an update - thanks for sharing your thoughts so far. Will put it to good use! Nice that you are always there with an helping hand, not only here, but throughout the Hive buddy.

Nefisa Glad that you are back and that you caught up. And don´t worry, my banana stash is well protected - but the raccoon can try of course ...

        TheLibarian´s Log - TheLibrarians´s Weekend:

        main course:

        spontaneous declutter LvL 3
        plumber workout LvL 3

        ______________________________

        Comments:
OMG - weekend is almost over ... time flew by too fast. My wife and I decided on Friday very spontaneously to do some declutter - even some furnitures were under the victims. But we also found a spontaneous buyer for sunday / today as well. Great executed "Friday-Plan". Still some shores left, but hey, tomorrow starts a new week.

We also had some problems with our drain again, which cost me some nerves - tomorrow I have to visit our landlord ...again.

But that also means: no much time for other things this weekend. Will have to get back to my program-notices on the morrow.

        Overall: a very productive weekend.

My "plumber workouts" generally involve pipe wrap (like ducttape but meant for plumbing) draino and/or a plunger. I hope yours involved a more useful landlord lol.

'rin my next "plumber-workout" *1 will involve a "landlord" *2 combined with "ducttape" *3 and perhaps some other stuff you mentioned ...

*1although I do hope I will not have to do it ... again
*2 eventually and probably not a forthcoming landlord and perhaps some kind of, well, lets call it an unwell landlord as well.
*3 because it is meant for everything - the essence of fun.

I really like my check-in-thread, especially when it gives me some kind of pressure to stick to some stuff.

And because I failed a lot in the past, especially reffering to one thing in particular, I will now try to do a personal challenge and keep it here as a log with my other stuff. Lets start with 30 days, hopefully longer, but we have to start somewhere, right?

              TheLibrarian´s "no-Coffee-in-Office-Challenge" - day1

              Why am I doing it?

              - I drink too much, throughout the whole day.
              - Therefore I have problems sleeping.
              - Therefore I got some stomach-related-problems from time to time.
              - Therefore I feel jittery.
              - On days I drink moderately I feel better, but I am not strong enough to keep it that way: moderately in office.
              - Will try to keep a balance between coffee and tea.
              - Will also try to take some tea with me to work as well from time to time.
              - etc.

Of course there are other things as well I could have mentioned above, but long story short:

I feel better with less coffee (no coffee in office) - only drinking at home moderately (for breakfast and not after 17:00, and not too much, which curiously never happens at home (of course on the weekend I drink some cups throughout the day, but not as much as I would do at work if you get my drift)) - but I am mostly not strong enough to keep it that way when I reach work. Therefore I hope to get some kind of pressure here in my log that helps me keep pushed the right way!

I try to: keep the good stuff at home and enjoy it at home. That alone would be a "win" for me and a victory over my "inner-weaker-self".

Day 1: I got some nice cold-brew-shot at home - marvellous indeed - and in the afternoon after work, a lovely japanese-green-tea awaits theLibrarian at home. Day 1 - here I come.

That's funny, I used to have pretty much the same problems and eventually also decided on only drinking coffee at home. Nowadays I occasionally drink one in the ofice, once a month or so. I do feel noticeably better this way but still tend to go all out on coffee on the weekends with the excuse of not having drunk so much coffee during the week.

                Cheers

Cheers mogster and thanks for telling me about your own experience as well! Glad that you feel better with "less" - apart from the weekend Let us first conquer the "work-week" and then the "weekend". Really looking forward on how this week plays out for me. and the next, and the next, ...

I drink no coffee at all. But your decluttering weekend impressed me. I would love to declutter more. But what shell I do with all that decluttered stuff?
                    Schwarze Tonne?

If there were somewhere a community like hive, where I could post every day "I did it" and get my (like)... That would help.
We moved to the house of my husband's parents and there is still a lot of their stuff left on the roof and in the basement addinionally to our own stuff.

Taking the decision is the first step. Go! You will make it.

You haven´t tasted my cold-brew with self-roasted beans yet - better then everything

But I will leave the decision with you, either you are my sidekick like "Robin" or perhaps "Bat-Girl" or "Aquagirl" if you like - I would go for the last two if I could decide. or my evil supervillain adversary like "Joker" & CO. - either way, it will be a hell of a challenge - and I always like a good challenge. Perhaps you make a combination of both, what do you say? Try it.

                        Looking forward to wednesday Buddy!

Had to reduce my coffee intake as well, because I discovered one day that I got heavy headaches on days were it did not get enough. I went cold turkey until the headaches went away and now have a strict 2 cups a day policy. It's worth it.

I experienced the same thing with the headaches! Gladly I am not the only victim of the coffee-goddess. Great that your way of 2 cups worked out for you! Your policy sounds good IMO and would play into my hands as well with one in the morning and one in the afternoon. But I still need to figure out which way suits me best. Lets see what secret the next few weeks reveal me.

                              Thanks for your words nell

"Schwarze Tonne"? That would be a waste - well, of course always depending on the stuff Use "Ebay", "second-hand-stores", etc. - of course "Schwarze Tonne" can always be a plan for last resorts.

My wife and I stumbled over this book some time ago - It was "eye-opening" and helped us a lot. Perhaps you find the book also interesting. Link

Why not use your thread for such stuff as well? and I would gladly "like" such a post Afterall: declutter can be one hell of a workout if you ask me. And a check-in does not always need to be fitness-related. We Bees share more then fitness. We are the HIVE.
