self-made-Horchata-milk and a Horchata-Granola-Bowl! Very tasty, very delicious ... very ADDICTIVE! It tastes like liquid cookies, at least this is one description of heaven.

    Enjoy your Sunday Bees!
Indeed sounds like heaven on earth... or, rather, the breakfast table :-) enjoy! :-)

      What a great thread, Lib!

I've just Googled and there is only one zero-waste shop in the whole of the UK! That's not good enough!

ok, now I know the difference between a "developing nation" and ....

Of course not, Joke aside - I was just kidding.

You are right! Definitely not good enough! But a few years back we had none neither ... at least not in my vicinity (it is first regional before it spreads!) Its a new style which has to establish itself. The people are always sceptical about new things and struggle to adopt new stuff ... but t will come in the end!

Don´t know, but in Germany you can observe the trend to less-plastic (at least in some areas and aspects) ... for example: even some great stores don´t give you plastic-bags anymore or let you pay for it (to make it unattractive for the customer - because, who wants to pay for the bags?)

in the meantime: always look on the bright side of life: just visit Devon from time to time (only 114 miles from Cardiff) ... then you can experience the atmosphere of a zero-waste-store and replenish some food at home. Or make it easy in your own vicinity: bring your own bags and cans - speak with the people - most of them are openminded and don´t bite ... unless you want it

just found this on goodle - zero-waste-stores in Germany

Colin Just remember to go by bike, if you take the car you might as well just buy a plastic bag.

So, you're advising taking no less than two days to get groceries? That's bold, and also probably not something most people can reasonably do...

just do it and plan it for the weekend - then you can combine it with camping!

I actually think that sounds like fun, but, I am a crazy person. You'd need a recumbent bike tho so you could carry enough baggage on it to be worthwhile.

Colin You can really be happy to have me - a non-real-"librarian" and therefore I can proof you wrong The bulk-app-says: Cardiff has at least one store were you can (not all of their offer, but a great part) buy waste-free! The store is called. "Jo´s Organic Stores" perhaps you know it?

There is an app were you can just search for a town, and you get results where to find potential waste-free-stores, even in the UK Just check for example London, there you will find many results! Here is the Link: Bulk-App

Regarding Jo´s Organic Stores I found the following description on facebook: here is the link don´t worry, you don´t need a facebook account to read it, I have no account there too

Now that we found Jo´s I think you can save the trip with the bike, unless you want it or maybe visit London, there you have a bigger selection of products - only 151 miles from Cardiff

Today I settled for a new heading as well. it is food-porn after all, but I think mouthgasm is also quite convenient

I fight the whole day an earworm ... can´t loose it .... "Herr Mannelig (Bergatrollets frieri "The Courting of the Mountain Troll")" - its a swedish-folk-ballad (no, I don´t speak swedish) - if you want to know more: youtube and wikipedia - I will not keep the earworm for myself
