Hi all,
newbie here! :-)
Well, by coincidence, I found Darebee on Monday and started with the Foundation program on Tuesday.
A little bit about me: I'm 28 years old, female, living in Germany. I've always loved books and hated PE at school. Additionally, all that girly stuff has never been my world. The color pink? Dancing? Romance books and films? Oh no, please go away! I grew up with James Bond movies and all the Bud Spencer and Terence Hill ones (thanks, Dad!).
Well, after school, I studied Technical Management and found for the first time a sport that I enjoyed quite a lot, Badminton! Ok, honestly, it took me nearly a year until I enjoyed it really...
But then I moved to a different part of Germany and wasn't really able to locate another Badminton club that fit my preferences. So I did nothing... and then started Martial Arts (Zen Sen Jitsu or in German Allkampf-Jitsu). I'm thoroughly enjoying it still, after now nearly 1.5 years. Additionally, I got my driver's license for motorbikes. Some friend mentioned not long ago that I must be „the wild one“ as I do all that... not really.
In between all that, I also did some running for a season or went to a gym for 2 months or did some strength training... nothing for very long, either I wasn't „able“ to make time or I got bored quickly.
That's the reason why I started on here – at least the first Foundation workouts don't take up a lot of time and I won't get bored that easily as it's not the same routine every day.
The other reason for starting to work out is that I realized that I need more strength, more endurance, more muscles.
Once for martial arts, to keep up with the guys especially now that I'm continuing the way up the graduation-ladder. And for riding my motorbike – the more confident I get and the longer or trips get, the more I realize that I definitely need to be in a better shape to keep up with everybody for riding whole days in the beautiful Alps.
So I just started on Tuesday, motivation is still here, even though I'm working out first thing in the morning (that's the time of day where I can plan with best)!
Sorry for the long rambling (if anybody is even reading that
). Back to work with the Foundation program tomorrow morning.
