I would suspect both factors....increased intensity of impact and the cold....take it easy for a few days!

Thanks Colin (the pistol squats and one-legged bridges are there for my quads so you are perfectly right ) , TheLibrarian (yep, glutes matters! I should incorportate clamshells, and the side lying exercise he shows - maybe buying a band, so I fully agree with this video). , sleep_twitch , MissMolly , Louve rose , daejamurrachan and Rainbow Dragon .
It's already better today, though clearly I have to rest a bit.

Yesterday I did my shoulders and neck yoga, sit-ups exercise sequence, and walked 6,554 steps.

This morning I did , seit-ups exercise sequence, side-lying leg raises (as in the video of TheLibrarian ), and

Still, 421 consecutive days of exercise.

So yesterday I ended up walking 8,844 steps. The knee was much better during the day (though quite tender), however, when in the evening I went out to a restaurant with my parents, despite having no stairs, it decided to start again grumbling. So, the cold / humidity is definitly a factor.

This morning I did the sit-ups exercise sequence, warrior III, and clamshells (to work on the glutes). For workout :

So counting today makes 422 consecutive days of exercise.

If my knee behaves today, I think tomorrow I will try to go to the gym use the machines (but no threadmill running). We will see. Take care, folks!

Avoid high impact exercice... they suck big time and bring not much, at least not to cover the cost

Definitly, xingyiquan , for a few more days, and Cardio Trim has a lot of high impact ... so I may switch this WE to another program. Thanks! The knee is much better, so I will try the machines tonight (no class because some part of it may be high impact).

So, yesterday, my step count was 8,625 steps.

This morning I did the sit-up exercise sequence, 2*10 one legged squats (not from bench), sidelying leg lifts for those glutes, warrior III, meditation, and

                    423 consecutive days of exercise.

Here's hoping the knee gets better sooner than later. Sucks when the foundation (lower body) is a bit broken down as it bears a good brunt of work for us.

Thanks, aveoturbo . It is much better now. As proof, the session with the machines at the gym went well, and knee is good. I will just avoid high impact a little longer But the cold was definitly a factor. I guess that my meniscus kept some scar tissue that's waking up if it is too cold and wet and too much impact. I guess that the good side is that at last I have an inbuilt system that warns me not to injure my knee again!

                        Yesterday 9,557 steps.

Today I did sit-ups exercise sequence, warrior III, 2*10 one legged bridges, and side lying hip abduction. For workout : Katana warm up , then

                        424 consecutive days of exercise.

                          Yesterday, 6,918 steps.

This morning I did the sit-up exercise sequence, 2*10 one legged squats (not from bench), clamshells, warrior III, meditation, and, after the Katana warm up,

I think I will be ready to resume programs, gym (I will put my knee sleeve just in case, for the crossfit-like class) and 10,000 steps next week

                          424 consecutive days of exercise.

Yesterday I did the sits up exercise sequence, meditation, 2*10 one legged bridges, side lying hip abduction, warrior III, and for program started 30 day of Gravity - D1. 11,008 steps.

                            425 consecutive days of exercise.

If the snow doesn't mess things up (it's Paris, people do not know how do deal with snow, which for me, after my Buffalo and Chicago years looks a bit ridiculous!), I'd like to go to the gym after work. We will see. I love seeing snow fall, but it also makes me all kind of nostalgic ...

We only need to have a credible forecast of snow here, PSW, and the local shop sells out of bread and milk!

                              Wrap up warm!

Thanks Colin , this is a time when I enjoy what I knitted for myself - including pure wool socks that are soooo warm and sooo comfy!

So, yesterday I did sit-up exercise sequence, 2*10 one legged squats (not from bench), clamshells, warrior III, 30 days of Gravity Day 2, and in the evening I went to my class. Glad to report that my (sleeved) knee is perfectly fine. Step count : 10,763 steps. However, I had no time for meditation.

                                426 consecutive days of exercise.

ETA : I forgot to do additional exercise for the battleground, but the Gravity workout at least had 60 backfists. I will do better today, for Dark Chocolate cookies and Dark Beer!
