Colin , yes, one of the very few words in Breton I know...

Yesterday I did back and core Day 27, the sit-ups exercise sequence, meditation, 2*10 side lying hip bridges with 10 sec hold and 2*10 bridges , warrior III, and 10,967 steps. After work I went to the crossfit-like class, loads of fun as usual , and this morning I am feeling less DOMS-y than I usually am after the classes - either it was a tad softer (for after vacations), or I am getting more used to it, LOL.

408 consecutive day of exercise. Keep up the good work, and buzz on, dear bees!

I saw a nice thing somewhere about Breton and Welsh, PSW, which said that some words are the same, but others very different - so, the words for red wine, would be gwin coch in Welsh, but in Breton that would give us gwin coc'h or "sh*t wine"! Not a good mistake to make.

As I've said before, my memory is always of my Welsh-speaking mum understanding a woman speaking - in a creperie of course! - in Breton, and saying some words of Welsh to her that she understood. We always enjoyed going to Brittany, and my mum, who plays the harp herself, got interested in Breton folk music, especially Alan Stivell - I think we still have a record of his somewhere.

Thank you for sharing that, and reminding me that one of my positive things for this year is to restart my online Welsh classes!

Buzz Buzz Buzz! Welsh for bees is gwenyn - one of the few Welsh words that I now!

Great going too - you inspire us here!

Today I did back and core Day 29, the sit-ups exercise sequence, meditation, 2*10 pistol squats from low bench, 2*10 bridges, warrior III, and 11,141 steps.

        410 consecutive days of exercise.

Colin , grins, that's be a sad mistake indeed! My maternal grandma could speak Breton fluently, and when there were TV interviews of people speaking Welsh, she could understand most of it too. My maternal grandpa spoke "gallo", what is spoken at the very borders of Bretagne and is a mix of French and Breton. On my dad's side, his dad was not Breton, and his mother, though Bretonne was from what we will call "small, penny-less" ex nobility where speaking Breton would have been considered uncouth (insert giant eye roll there).

That's interesting history, PSW, thank you. I've read a little bit about the drive to make France linguistically uniform. Similar things were done in the UK, the Welsh Not being the most famous example (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_Not), which my family has recollections of.

          Good fitness stuff there too!

Well, Colin , my grandma could still tell tales about the punishments given to kids caught speaking Breton at school. On one hand, promotion of the global national language, French in this case, was a bonus for the poor rural kids who wanted to escape their village / had the ability to study further (and for that, needed French to go to High School equivalent), really gave them that chance (grandma became a schoolteacher). On the other hand, let's face it, the mix of humiliating kids and humiliating a local culture was bad.

Today back and core Day 30, the sit-ups exercise sequence, meditation, 2*10 side lying hip bridges with 10 sec hold and 2*10 bridges , warrior III, and 10,701 steps.

However, my knee's seriously bothering me again. Saturday, when I was walking / shopping around, I really felt it - but blamed it on cold + humid day, put the knee sleve a few hours, and it was mostly OK. Sunday, fine. But yesterday, as soon as I walked out of my door, it started bothering me more and more. At the end of the (long) day, it was real pain. I put the knee sleeve a little bit before doing to bed (taking it off once in bed), and this morning still hurting. No way I could do burpees or planks, even that hurt, so I did some light upper body exercises / stretches. I put the knee sleeve to go to work, took it out once at work. I am not going to gym tonight, and wondering if I try to get my 10,000 steps or rest even for that. Right now it is between tender and painful.
Drat. Maybe giving myself at least 2 days of rest +knee sleeve when taking subway and see how my knee reacts.

ETA : I am wondering if it is all the high knees / jacks from the cardio trim, the cold + humid weather we got right now, or both of them.

Aarrghh! Sorry to hear about your knee problems, PSW! My recent problems were helped by doing some simple physio exercises that strengthened the quadriceps (and made me thing about engaging them!), but it sounds like you have a good plan. I hope it clears up soon.

sorry to hear that - I donĀ“t know what you have exactly, but for me, personally this video helped a lot, and since I trained and strenthened my "glute medius" I am knee pain free. Definitely something I neglected in the past! Perhaps this simple exercises will help you too, otherwise: here are some healing vibes.
