Yesterday I did Back and core Day 21, 2*10 side lying hip bridges with ten sec hold, 2*10 regular bridges, warrior III, meditation, and 10,824 steps.

And now the three "main" dishes I put on the Christmas table:

An asparagus and nuts quiche (with a portion without tomatoes for my darling nephew )
Ogrimar "gangrened eggs" with proscuitto (devilled eggs with wasabi) - from the WoW cookbook
And shrimp chips with marinated shrimps and advocado

We also had foie gras, different toasts, salad, fruit salad, and a dessert-log (from bakery). And lots of champagne and nice red wine chose by dad!

    Bon appetit!

Grins to Colin , thanks! This may break next year when I will do a vacation with my best friend, but heck, let's get it rolling!

Yesterday I did Back and core Day 22, 2*10 one legged bridges with ten sec hold, 2*10 pistol squats from a low stool, warrior III, meditation, and 10,356 steps.
I also went to the gym, where I had a good 30 min run, and did the weight machines. Finally, I appreciate running in a warmer place in winter! I also had a good private session with one of the trainers - I asked for it because I wanted to solve why I am still not doing sit ups after that time...
He thinks I have a lower back that's way too stiff, and that's what prevents me from doing that roll-up thinhy that gets you off the floor. So, he gave me specific exercises :
        10 cat-cow
10 windshield wipers, but with the knees tucked in as much as I can -and oops, yes, that does stretch the lower back like mad!
        10 crunches
        10 reverse crunches
and play "culbuto" - trying to roll my spine with glutes as tucked in as possible.

I have to try that for a month (he says three times a week, I say daily so that's in my daily routine), and see him after that month.

His explanation of my lower back being way too stiff makes prefect sense, now, I am wondering if I can unstiffen in a month... Well, at least I will try my best, LOL!
Onwards to mastering the unassisted sit up!
(now, Tororo seems to have a nice supple back , LOL!)

ETA : 402 consecutive days of exercise.

PetiteSheWolf remember that some times more is not better. instead of i'll do this every day to see if i can loosen it up in a month, maybe more like i will do it every day that benefits you to create as much flexibility as possible in a month ... that way, if you can do it every day - WIN!!, but if you can't (because your back needs a rest/recovery day) you can take a day off without breaking your word to yourself, and still develop as much flexibility as possible in the month - WIN!!

Your best is all anyone can ask for. You'll get back to sit-ups in the right amount of time for your body.

Wow, PSW! So much you have been up to here since last I checked in!

Congratulations on completing Hero's Journey, Fighter's Codex, Cardio Trim Run, Dragon Week, Katana Week, Calves of Steel, Spartan Trials, the Ninja Challenge, Cardio HIIT, and Epic 5!

Congratulations too on running La Parisienne! That is awesome news from your cardiologist that you are cleared to do an even longer race next year!

Finally: huge congrats on your full year--now 400+ days--of consecutive exercise! That is a huge milestone!

I wish I had been checking in back in October and knew you were going to attempt NaNoWriMo. I do it every year!
Have you ever done or considered doing Camp NaNo? It runs every year in April and July and allows you to set your own word count goal. So if 50K is just not reasonable for you, but you'd still like the accountability of a writing community and month-long challenge, Camp NaNo can be a good option. Camp NaNo also allows campers to set up private virtual cabins, so you can choose your own accountability partners for the month.
If you're ever considering doing one of the NaNo events in the future, give me a shout.

                Keep on being awesome!

PetiteSheWolf I am just catching up with your thread and I think you're doing brilliant stuff! I was a little intrigued on the sit-ups issue and "stiff back" diagnosis. Really, on getting up off the floor in a sit up exercise the stiffness of the back is not why a sit up cannot be executed and a "stiff back" is a very umbrella term covering a lot of issues. The exercises the personal trainer gave you to do address several problems so, yeah, try them out and see if you see a difference. If, after a month, you still can't do a sit up off the floor let me know. There are a couple of things I can suggest that will most probably address the issue. Have an awesome New Year's Eve!

Thanks for the good year wishes, xingyiquan and daejamurrachan !
Damer thanks for the compliment And thanks for offering your own advice, that's really nice! We will see at the end of the month how it evolves, and I will tag you when I post about it! For the moment, after a little bit more than a week, I think I can feel my lower back being more supple, so we will see.

I decided to start the new year with treating myself, so that was a low-key day (no walking around - I will catch up Saturday so that 6 days out of 7 in the week are still done), restful and nice. Hadn't had one of those in a long while! Mademoiselle Luna appreciated too, if I believe the snuggles

I did back and core Day 25, the sit-ups exercise sequence, meditation, 2*10 side lying hip bridges with 10 sec hold and 2*10 bridges , warrior III, and 2,219 steps. Told ya it was a low-key, lazy comfy day!
