A wolf's steps through the snow

    Hi there bees,

I am setting this as my exercise log. So, forgive me if I do a quick recap from my introduction thread, to summarize "where I am at" and "where I want to", sort of

I am a French gal, living around Paris,. Health-wise, I have a few particularities since I am petite, and had open-heart surgery when just a little girl. I have to still take some care, and cannot have long periods of elevated heart rate, so that may impact some of the workouts - heck, I will just do them slower - easier on the heart, harder on the muscles, LOL. not overweight nor underweight, just "in the middle" with a BMI of 21.

I have been doing yoga for a while - it saved my sanity during my Ph.D. years. I also did some feminine self-defense training, but not as regularly as would impact my overall shape (it was more on reflexes, where to strike, how to get out of some holds, and awareness of your environment). I also try my best to walk 10,000 steps/day.

What do I hope to do here? Get - and keep - some abs, and generally streamline and work out regularly and in a balanced way. I started the hero 's journey program, was on D15 - but realised I had complete ignored the "karma" parts... Uh... So I start "foundation" program.

    With that...

Friday , Aug. 26: Foundation 1, and 10,640 steps. I am still wondering when I did those steps, as it is a heat wave here right now, and I did not do the usual walk when coming back from work as I usually do. But glad
With the heat, the Thursday/Friday night wax not good , but FridaySaturday night, I kept my air conditioning part of the night, and it was soooo much better.

Saturday, Aug 27: Foundation 2. Forgot my step counter when I went for a quick errant run, but from previous expercience, roughly 3,000 steps. However, I will not go back outside, as it is still the heatwave... Should be better tomorrow, according to predictions. Foundation program seems to start rather slowly but nicely ; actually, with the heat, it is perfect for me those days ETA : did the Daily Dare, with extra credits - thanks Gee

Good start. Enjoy the foundation program. If there are days you think you need a bit more you can added more sets or DD.

Today Sunday 28th of August : Day 3 of Foundation, level 1. Went well. Oh, I also did the daily dare - no extra credit though. I partially blame it on the cat : she found the movement fascinating and came to rub her cheek against my back-and-forth-moving hand - the silly sweet little demon
ETA : and 6534 steps done, thanks to going to Sunday service and then visiting a friend. Still hot here, but it is way more manageable than the previous days.

Questions : when it says X repeats for arms exercises, it is fairly straighforward, I do it "left, right" times X.
But for legs, for example "20 low front kicks" - I do 20 kicks with my right legs, then 20 with my left leg - is that correct, or should I alternate
kick right - kick left , 20 times?

Yes you should alternate according to this.

Friday September 2nd. Day 8 of Foundation (level 8) - the stretching felt good Daily dare no EC, and 10,565 steps.
I was wondering regarding the sit-ups : I need to block my feet under my desk, is it just a question of getting more abs, or should I really force myself not to block my feet? For the moment, if I do not block them, I can barely lift my upper back, not quite my lower back... If I block them, very carefully (no straining) I can do a correct shape sit up. What do you say, bees?

Today September 4th : Day 10 of Foundation Level 1, daily dare with EC (but it was surprisingly hard!), and 10,395 steps. Tricep dips were an interesting discovery!
