Ah, yeah having to continuous look at your phone whilst running, intervals especially, can get super annoying!
I've had this app on my phone for awhile now, but still haven't started it.

      I don't run at all so for me you did a great deal already K e l l y
Next time will be better, I have no doubt you can do it

Thank you all very much, you're so sweet I will try again when it's not a thousand degrees. And thinking I'll just suck it up and go from home despite the hills. That's one way to get better, right?! Someone very wise in the running section told me to scrap the challenges and just go for a run. Find a pleasant route and walk/run it as I'm able. And eventually I'd discover I could run longer/faster by default. Sounds pretty smart so I'll do the 5K challenge until it cools down enough and then head outside. I can do this.

That is fantastic advice and routing for you

K e l l y, I'm sorry you had a bad run. When I used Zombies, Run, I really only used it to have some sort of storyline going other than music to keep my mind off running. I don't think it is a very good app for helping you train.

As for the rest of your run, you did amazing! You will constantly have bad days throughout your journey, and they'll sometimes sneak up and surprise you. I found that there was a big difference in running on the treadmill vs. running outdoors, and you just have to keep at it to get used to it. The terrain when you run out doors is constantly changing so your body is probably doing more work than you think. Also, my training coach when I ran my half-marathon gave me the same advice others have given you. Pick a route, and just walk/run what you can comfortably. Slowly, you will start realizing that you can run longer and longer. You've been kicking butt with this running thing, so don't let one bad day bring you down!

Also, other good advice my training coach gave me was to SLOW DOWN! Even if it's not the time you want your mile to be, your body will tell you when you're pushing too hard. If you slow your pace down a little, you'll be able to run longer and then as you conquer the distance, you can start working on the speed. Granted, I was more concerned with running endurance than I was beating any speed records, so depends on your goals.

Sorry for the book, and good luck on your next run! You are a CHAMP!

              Finally back at it.

              Pandora Chapter 41
Started last Wednesday. I don't even have it in me to be embarrassed about that (ok, maybe a little...) 75 travel points. So 100 high knees, then 45 points from Friday's run, 20 more high knees before the workout today. Cardio circuit, high knees jump squats and side to side jumps on level one, only one 30 second break been sets three and four. Very quick workout but perfect to get back in the swing of things

              5K Day 20
30 squats (20 and 10 mainly because squats bore me to death), 30 calf raises.

              Core Day 12
60 second plank, 10 plank reaches.

Pandora chapter 42 sounds likely today too, I have to catch up with twinkletoes so we can start Cardio Blast on time

                Pandora Chapter 42
104 high knees to get to the bridge, then slow climbers, plank walkouts, plank hold, slow climbers, plank jump ins, and plank hold. I took the breaks between sets but stayed up during and it was a decent workout. 300 punches (I did jab + crosses and squat hold punches) finished up the chapter at level one.

espressonist you weren't kidding about that decision did you pick a or b?? I hope I made the right choice...

No need to hurry on my account. I'm only 4 days ahead and I don't mind some "active rest" between programs

Yup. Like. I wanted to make the other choice, but felt duty bound. Especially since last time - in the builders city- I went against what the lady asked.

I swear we've made all the same decisions, it's kind of funny!!

                            Pandora Chapter 43B
Level one. Squat chops, high knees + side to side jumps, pushup + chops combos, and chops. I swear to God I have chop nightmares. Still doing them with a somewhat limited range of motion. 50 pushups. Broken into sets of 10-15

                            Core Day 13
Yep I totally counted those Pandora pushups 28, 30 second plank, 28 plank reaches.

500 squats for chapter 44?! So boring...

K e l l y with you on those chops. I did dream about doing chops in my sleep last night. Sleepy flailing is super awkward, especially when you thwack yourself! I don't mind them physically, but it gets a bit boring almost every single day for me anyway.

                              Do they bug your shoulders?

They really started bugging my back, poor form I think, but like I said, almost every day is overkill. Raised arm holds, circles, scissors, something??! Shake it up a bit. But no, chops, chop combos, chops. I guess it goes better with the storyline?
