Ten pounds. And two loads of laundry folded and put away during the restsOriginally posted by MissSmilla View PostAt this point I thought: why is she folding laundry with dumbbells??? (it's still early here)
But then I realized: K e l l y is a smart woman. (And I really need to hang up yesterday's load of laundry, snow on the balcony or no snow on the balcony.)
Nice job!Oh no, aveoturbo , you heard it here first
It's the "Kelly" method of active rest during training/more time to sit on the porch with a book when I'm done.

So yesterday was weird. But I've reinforced a very important lesson: without carbs I CANNOT miss a good dinner or I'm completely worthless physically the next day. I wasn't even short on calories Wednesday but John was gone in the evening and I just had a small snack before bed. I thought I was DYING when I woke up. My heart was pounding, I was shaking and so weak. I did manage to make it through my shower before I called in to work. I had a mild fever so it may have been a bug? But I really think it was just lack of food/carbs for too long. I got a spoonful of peanut butter, barely made it back to bed and slept until 1030.
Yesterday's balance day with Spartan was perfect of course and I felt so much better when I woke up the second time but I just wasn't in the mood for anything strenuous today. John made burgers for dinner and I realized the little ones he always makes me are only ~2 ounces. So I had two. With blue cheese. And sliced cheese. And bacon. And steak sauce. And mustard.and then I did
Revolution Day 1
My first ever yoga practice. It was really nice to revisit. Finishing Spartan Trials tomorrow and Sunday. Happy weekend, BeesI'm a hunting widow the next two days, it's deer season and John's going to be gone by 5 am each morning. I'm going to enjoy every lazy minute of it.

Is there actually such a big problem with eating carbs, as in eating healthy multi chained carbs and not sugary stuff? I mean if that works for you than that is just fine but you seem to complain regularly about a lack of carbs.
Not trying to tell you what to eat just curious about your thought process.

I've never been a "sugary stuff" person. My carbs prior to this experiment were mostly high fiber, whole grain breads, quinoa, beans, potatoes and fruits. The occasional popcorn or white hotdog/hamburger bun.

My understanding on switching to low-no carb diets is that it takes some time for the body to adjust. Without sources and going off the top of my head, I think it's about 6-8 weeks depending on different things.
Could be wrong.
I need carbs. I get way too grumpy without them. It would be like quitting smoking.

K e l l y Don't worry, you are definitely not complaining too much.
Personally I am someone who greatly dislikes the idea of restricting my diet, especially to things I actually like to eat and feel like aveoturbo and have a strong need for at least some amount of carbs. That is probably just something I am used to and could be changed in theory at least.
But it seems to be working for you, that is amazing and I guess the only question is if you can do it long term.

Oh, 'rin I should ask. Did you experiment with low carb baking??? I found two recipes, one for sesame seed hamburger buns and one for English muffins (I ordered some sugar free jams) that both look amazing and are 1-4 serving recipes. They use nut butter, almond and coconut flours, cream cheese, almond milk, protein powder...(not all in one recipe lol between the two). I tried a cauliflower pizza crust andbut the English muffins look to die for.
