Shark Week has been bad this time 'round and my mum was staying with us while she finished up stuff to move back to Utah. Suffice it to say my routine got thrown off. I did go and see Wonder Woman with her and I loved the action scenes. I should be able to pick up running again tonight when my partner gets off work. Next week he should be back on nights which are easier to work with somehow so my routine will be better. ^_^

Soooo hooooootttttt........ Went on a 15 min power walk with the family (minus the cat) and gah. Heat. I hate it. Granted I know the only way to get used to it is to do things like this (15-20 mins outside when hot daily) but it suuuucksss....

Okay whining done. Time to hydrate so I can run later. (Indoors)

I've been thinking that I'm so close to the end of Walk to Run that instead of starting 8 weeks to 5 k on a later day I may just start that today instead and drop the last five days of walk to run. It's about the same level looking at times.

Day 1 of 8 Wto5K It felt good to run again and it appears I was right about being able to jump in instead of finishing Walk to Run. Which since the entire point of WtR is to get started running I definitely got benefit from it.
Day 1 of 90DoA Lvl 1 (Doing this with Aknord so I'm not jumping up to higher levels quite yet as his routine got thrown off worse than mine. Plus I had a migraine yesterday so starting slow doesn't = bad. (Not sure who I'm trying to convince here lol).
DD with EC to finish things off. (as well as that walk earlier so yeah)

            Yay!

I'm happy you've got your routine back on track and started a new programme. Regarding the heat, if it's too much for you, maybe you could wear a wet T-shirt (not white though ) or something to keep you cool? While I personally love heat, I can sympathize - your change of climate was kinda extreme. I hope you guys have fun with 90DoA, I think it's really great you're doing it together. And keeping the level low at the start seems smart, especially since you're doing the running as well.

I hope you get some relief from the heat soon!

Thanks Ann-Core; considering the date (July) I'm just hoping to acclimate enough to the heat that I can enjoy it some. I am running inside on a treadmill though I'm considering running after Aknord gets off work in the mornings. That way I can take my dog as well.

Day 2/15 - 8 weeks to 5k. squats and calf raises. Easy peasy. Migraine so shopping and walking outside was my 15 mins.

                Day 3/15
                8 Weeks to 5K
90 DoA Day 2 lvl 1. Done quickly after my run. Not too bad.
I'm in the position of wanting to rush myself but I know I can't. Just got to remember not to be silly. I'll try to give DoA a month before adding anything else challenge wise.

Not sure if this is your cup of tea, but if you're ever itching to add something to your routine, maybe something like the Meditation challenge would come in handy? It's still a challenge, but not so much the physical kind.

Ann-Core; that's a good idea. I'll have to think about that one.

                      Day 4/15
8 Weeks to 5K Day 4 (squats and calf raises)
Day 3 of DoA Lvl 2. I did level two so I'd get the full fifteen minutes. ^_^

                        Day 5/15
Left my workout clothes in the washer overnight so no 8 weeks to 5K today. I won't have time before Aknord goes to work.
Day 4 of DoA Lvl 2. Again lvl two so I'd get fifteen minutes. ^_^

                          Day 6/15 -
Day 5 of DoA on lvl 1 plus some wiifit to get my 15.

                          Day 7/15
Day 6 of DoA 200 leg raises challenge. Fun times! Did some wiifit again to get 15 mins

                          Day 8/15
Shopping and errand running in 100 degree heat (about 37-38C) wiped me out but I did walk pretty quickly for over fifteen minutes.

A heat wave is why I haven't been doing the 8 weeks to 5K. There is a gym I use but the air conditioner doesn't always drop it more than about 20 degrees below outside temperatures. So it would've still been about 80 (26C) in there and that would've given me a migraine every day. Luckily my flat's AC keeps it at 70 (21) so I'm good in here.

Definitely not the best temperatures for running if one is prone to migraines. Glad to see you can still squeeze in some things.

Went on a 1 hour walk yesterday as the heat broke; for now. I've been using deep cleaning of my apartment as my workouts while the heat lasted. It kind of needed it and as long as I didn't take a break it meant lots of bending and walking back and forth. ^_^ (Sometimes having a toddler means that it looks like a hurricane struck all your stuff). So that puts me at 12/15.

Cleaning house definitely counts as workout! I think it actually makes me sweat more than the actual workouts. 😉
