    MH diet is healthy meals every 4 hours or so, and no snacking. That might be too long for you, depending on your insulin levels, or how you feel.

    Look at glycemic index of anything carb if you are trying to manage insulin spikes. There are little pocket sized books meant for diabetics. Some veggies, like cooked carrots, have a similar glycemic index to a candy bar >.>

    Modern Hero for Prediabetes?

    Obligatory Disclaimer: I acknowledge any advice I receive here isn't official medical advice or a substitute for a doctor.

    I've been told I'm at risk of diabetes, between my weight and my blood sugar tending to spike easily. I've decided to start getting serious about eating healthier and losing weight, and I feel like the Modern Hero plan is something I could follow long-term. Is anybody else here prediabetic of managing diabetes who has had success using this plan?

    And are there any pointers for food allowed in the plan I should avoid? I figure make grains whole as much as possible, and lean into the "veggies" part of "as many fruits and veggies as you want" are good starts, but there may be other things I haven't thought of.
