    Soaked nuts

    Good morning to all
A friend of mine, suggested me that, if I soak nuts (especially cashews and peanuts) overnight and let them dry for a while, I will get a creamier nut butter. Is that true and, if so, can I do it with roasted nuts or do I have to roast them after? (seems counter intuitive...) I don't care about removing the substances covering the nuts, just for a better texture... Thanks a lot

    Quoting from julieslifestyle.com:
The soaking process will release all the enzyme inhibitors. This will make the nuts more digestible and it will also be easier for the body to benefit from all the precious nutrients in the almonds.
That's just from a quick search on the internet. Honestly, your best bet is to just try it. Take a small batch and soak them. From what everyone else seems to be saying, it's not about roasting the nuts, but drying them out before blending. It does seem counterintuitive to soak and then roast them.

Of course, you could always try roasting and then soaking. That could give you the flavor you want while keeping the potential extra creaminess.

    Hope this helps!

JCU I knew the purpose of soaking for easier digestion and it really helps for almonds... I will then just try... It may take a while, but I will update with the results..! Thanks!
