    Question on the amount of Protein

    The article in the Nutrition section about protein is very informative. I am currently 177 lb (80.5 kg), I would like to be 165 lb (75 kg). My question, is do calculate the daily amount of protein on the weight you are now, or the weight you want to be?

    PETERMORRIS966 the optimum amount for building muscle is: "1.6 g/kg body weight/day" - that is based on your current weight so you can build muscle. As you do build muscle your weight will increase so, your protein input will increase as well. I hope I've explained this clearly but please don't hesitate to ask any follow-up question.
