    Protein Shakes

Which protein shake is the best tasting? I use Muscle Milk currently but what other shakes do you like?

I check for heavy metals, Muscle Milk is said to be the worse. I prefer unflavoured or vanilla and without stivia. My fave brand for whey or vegetarian is Natural Factors.

Personally, I like Core Power since they don't taste like powder and have several different flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry banana, banana, and coffee which does have a bit of caffeine in it), a light version (less protein and less sugar I think; vanilla and chocolate), and an "elite" version (double the protein than the regular bottle; vanilla and chocolate). They're lactate free, which is great for lactose intolerant people.

My brother tells me that the sugar content is high though. However, he likes weights and muscle building and I prefer cardio, so the two of us don't see eye to eye on what the best options are.

Optimum Nutrition makes some of my favorite flavors. I have run into some other really good ones like Jym and Beyond Raw but tend to avoid them due to price and sweetness level. While I don't mind a sweet shake every now and again for a change I can't do it everyday.

GNC is also starting to make some better flavors (their French Toast was actually pretty good) but they are still working on making it easier on the stomach. I listen to my stomach when it comes to shakes and GNC wheybiolic tends to make my tummy upset after a couple of weeks but they have improved greatly over the last couple of years.

Yeah, I agree with Azercord, Optimum is the most well known, If you are looking for a good flavor I'd try the Nutraone Protein one or Isolate one depending on what you are looking to do. The only place I've ever seen them sold in a store is in a Five Star Nutrition or a Total Nutrition so may what to check them out.

Because it's no fat/carb, I've been using Julian Bakery's Paleo Pure egg white protein. 2 scoops is 50g of protein and 200 calories without fat or carbs.

That said it's not as cheap as a whey protein, but there are only a few ingredients.

I personally like PEScience protein powder. It is a mixture of casein and whey. I love it with coconut milk and I love making protein waffles. The flavors include Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Cupcake, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Strawberry Cheesecake, and of course, Vanilla. Pretty low in carbs.
