    posture defects (scoliosis)

Are any of the workouts or exercises unsuitable for people with moderate postural defects (scoliosis). I would like to strengthen my core muscles and improve my posture. I wanted to choose the right training, but the information in the descriptions seems to be insufficient. Could you please advise something.

I've got scoliosis; I haven't found any exercises that could be unsuitable. Some things are difficult (like superman stretch), and I bend further to one side than the other. Basically, if you can do an exercise, do it. If you find it causes pain, don't do it - easy as that, I'd say. There are loads of core/ab workouts - use the filter on the workouts page to sort them. There are also some programmes that specifically target the core, such as Core Strength, that you might like to have a look at. You might also like to incorporate some stretching or yoga. Before you start, have a go at the fitness test to help you determine what level of exercise you're up to. And do read the manual. If you have any other questions, just ask, and we'll see how we can help.

Thank you for your answer. I didn't know about this test. I'm just getting started and I think my condition is terrible because even level 1 is too difficult for me and I have to reduce the number of series or repetitions. I will certainly come back with questions later. For now, however, I will read what is on the site because there is a huge amount of content.

Oh, don't worry about being "terrible". You do what you can. Nothing here is written in concrete, and you don't have to do all the sets or reps of anything. Change, adapt, reduce - whatever you need to do just to get yourself moving. If you need to modify things, check this out. There is a LOT here on the site - enjoy. Look forward to hearing more from you.
