    5 squats 5-count squat hold

Hi everyone, so in the challenge of this month it, for example, day 1, says, 5 squats (and) 5-count hold. Are you supposed to get up after the 5th squat and go down again to hold for 5 counts? Or do you stay 5 counts after getting down during the 5th squats?

The format appears in this workout, too. I usually go for my first solution, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks.

The manual gives the example of plank after push-ups, where you don't get up. I thought it's the same for squats so I always went for the second option. I "complete" the 5th squat after the count, basically.

Let's split some hair and pick some nits:
huma The plank is the end position of the pushup, as opposed to the hold position that is the middle position of the squat. So it does not really compare.

If you look at the squat-hold isolated it's a down move-> a hold-> and an up move, so an extra squat. If you do not get up after the 5th squat and stay down for the hold, you are doing 4 squats and a squat hold. So option no.1 it is. You even get a for it.

Andi64 huma I think both options have their logic, so I think it's nice to have the admins clarify it.
        Damer Thanks!

kandy on the last squat, i.e. the 5th, you hold the position to a slow count of five. It's four sets in total, so you will do that four times. As huma rightly says, "it's in the manual"
