    New Person Looking for Help

I'm just trying to get started with a body weight workout and have not been doing any type of work or physical activity for a very long time. My focus will be on weight loss but most of that is in my middle stomach area and thighs. Can anyone recommend a couple of programs that would be good places to start in this new journey with those specifics?

Welcome to the HIve Sandman Slim
A good place to start is the manual.
Then the fitness test gives you an overall idea how you fit in the programs/workouts.
And finally here is How to pick a program.
The best program is the one you start today and finish within a reasonable time.
Foundation, 60 Days of Cardio or 10 are good starting points. Square one, Foundation light or Baseline if forementioned are too hard.
The program page has a very good filter that helps your selection.

There are 1400+ workouts in the database, but there again is a filter to help you find the ones that suit your fitness level and what part of the body you want to train.
Weight loss is mostly a nutritional issue and it will not happen on preferred areas. Sorry. There are no 'loose-your-belly-fast excercises'. That's just a myth.
Have a look into the nutrition section esp. the article on protein.
Take it easy, start slow and find a sustainable routine that fits your lifestyle/schedule.

If you want to make your own training plan here are some templates, fill them with the workouts according to your needs.

If you are happy, do not forget to show some love to the makers of this fine resource.
    Good luck
    Andi

If your fitness test shows lvl 1 in one area and lvl 3 in the other two I recommend starting out at the lvl for the exercise you have issues with for example with me I dont even register lvl 1 for pushups (I dont consider wall pushups to count since they are too easy and i can do 30 of them but inclined and regular I can barely do 1) so if the day of the program has pushups I do lvl 1 on that day but lvl 2 on the other days just because I know my weakness and I am working on them after I do my programs.

Nice name, Sandman Slim , those are fun books.

If you are not an abomination like Jimmy, don't start by beating the shit out of yourself. Any workout you enjoy and will stick with and which does not make you ravenously hungry if you want to drop fat = good workout. Pick whatever looks interesting to you and doesn't leave you wretched the next day and go.

Sandman Slim Welcome to the Hive! There are lots of terrific and supportive people here. I'll add a couple of things to the great advice already given: Learn to drink water! This will help to calm hunger pangs. Also, pay attention to what you are eating. Think of food as fuel for your body; the cleaner the fuel, the better it will run.
