    Shrimp squat - yes, you touch. If you want to make a shrimp squat harder, you can even stand on an elevated place (like a step) and let the one leg go lower than the step. I only found this out this out yesterday, when I was making a September "daily squat variation" challenge for myself!

    With lunges the answer is yes, BUT, long ago, I actually learnt from a friend you don't have to necessarily touch the floor always. It depends on each person. If your hip flexors is more stiff, then you don't have to touch the floor. Just go down as far down as you can.

    Doing shrimp squats on a book(s) when working up to the real thing is also something I did.
