    Ankle mobility

Fractured my right ankle a while back, radiused outward, required surgery with a plate. I hope to have the plate removed as it's incredibly irritating at times.

Had an air cast and physio afterwards. However, the physio clinic and I just didn't 'click' - no fault of theirs or anything, the chemistry just wasn't there. I did as they suggested, but I came out of it wanting, and like I got less than I wanted out of it.

I found the Nintendo Wii balance board to be massively helpful.

So my question is, any suggestions to increase range of motion and strength? I don't ever expect it to be 100%, just looking for ways to improve. I've done the alphabet hundreds of times, and still do. I found the Ankle Recovery here, but I'm not sure that's enough of a challenge.

Thanks for any suggestions or insights.

The one thing that did a ton for me (and I still continue to do) is the resting squat. I do it barefoot when possible and I stuck at it until it became a comfortable position to stay in. Now I use it all the time even when just hanging out. The funny part is the reactions from people when you do it out and about because sadly many people can't even get close. It is also good for your hip flexibility.
