Cardio/HIIT before or after Strength training?

I see mixed reviews all over the internet about what to do first and WHY, only to have other sources say it doesn't even matter.

    Thoughts?

There are so many opinions, cause there are so many ways to train... It depends on your intentions.. and your expertise... and many other factors...

What are your goals and what are you doing for strength/cardio/hiit?

I always do strength first and cardio second for two reasons. First I want to make sure my movements and smooth and precise for the strength stuff so that I minimize the risk of injury so I start with low fatigue. And B I don't like sweating all over my strength equipment.

The reality of it is that it doesn't really matter and just try both and figure out what you prefer. I know lots of people that do a light cardio first to get a nice solid warm up and others (like me) that call 10 minutes of warmup overkill.

There is some difference, but as others have pointed out it is not a huge difference. If you were training for an elite competition, there would be a difference, but if you are looking for general fitness then you benefit best just by doing the stuff. I mostly just do a mix, strength, cardio however it comes from the programs and workouts that I have loaded.

As others already stated it depends on your goal. Has strength priority or cardio? But basically i would do the strength workout first and then do the cardio.
Reason: i want to be fresh and focused to put in good work for my strength workouts. Muscles are fresh, no glycogen depleted, my mind is fresh and i did not spend a lot of willpower.
So i can get in a decent effort and put the stimulus for some gains.
If i would do the cardio beforehand (depends on the duration and intensity) a lot of focus and willpower would already be gone/drained by the cardio stuff and i would only do a half-hearted strength workout.
